The SF-based Alyce Finwall Dance Theater presents the world premiere of EVENFALL, the company’s first evening-length production.
The San Francisco-based Alyce Finwall Dance Theater (AFDT) presents the world premiere of EVENFALL, the company’s first evening-length production. Choreographed by Artistic Director Alyce Finwall, EVENFALL features eight powerful female dancers investigating femininity, identity, innocence and nakedness, through raw movement, improvisation and theater. EVENFALL will premiere at the Garage Theater in San Francisco March 30 & 31, 2011, then will have it's New York City premiere at the Joyce SoHo May 5, 6 & 7, 2011. This is an incredible opportunity for the company!
The SF Examiner calls her work an "impressive and accomplished choreographic symphony, her movement is fast, athletic, sensuous.", and the Minneapolis Star Tribune has noted the work for having a "fierce fluidity in performance and a brooding surrealism in choreography,". EVENFALL has an original composition by composer/programmer Carson Whitley, and visual design by video artist Andrea Williams.
We are looking to raise $2,000 or more in just 42 days to help subsidize production and travel expenses. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL OR TOO LARGE!
