The last 3 days have been great and very busy for our campaign! Ever since we’ve announced the new Campaign model hundreds of emails, private messages and comments came in, and the number of backers took a big leap forward (over 200 backers per day!!!). So after 9 days we have 2100 backers and a third of our goal! *WHOOHOO!!* So a sincere and humble THANK YOU for helping our project move forward even more!

In the last couple of days we also got a lot of great coverage in various magazines, blogs and tweets! Even Felicia Day tweeted yesterday about supporting Shadowrun Online, and Wired’s Geek Dad repeated their recommendation and added that they’re looking at backing the project themselves! Also Forbes had an article on our project! That’s exactly the exposure we need to achieve our final goal. If you also happen to know somebody in the media, at a magazine, or a Twitter celeb, suggest writing about the project to them!

I know there are more important issues at hand right now (ie making it to 500000), but I'm just wondering... I'm at the $66 dollar level, as I want to get the game for me and my team, but I still want to have a chance at winning the minis.. I'm still confused. Are these included at GHOST IN THE MACHINE - ALL DIGITAL supporter level (less the game box/disk, since its a digital option)? Or will they require an increased pledge level for those items?

Shadowrun will work similiar to the PnP in regards to Karma, Reputation and skills, breaking the skills ec. down into smaller increments though.

in order to level up in at some points like every 4 levels I think you had to have a item..
the 1st one was given to you by a quest. after that you could find the item but they got more and more rare as you leveled... or you could buy it in the cash shop. ie pay to progress. you still can get all the way up to max without buying anything but it take a ton more time. they did sold more then that in the game thou.
ya you can balance it as a ftp and a btp. even is it stayed as just a ftp it may end up being just the game I wanted but it all goes back to what you are encouraged to do by how you make your money. it like you guys have done a good job with your last game based on how others defended you thou.
not even sure will shadowrun have levels?

Part of balancing the game, including reasonable amount of task and mission fullfillment (grinding) is what the Closed and Open beta's are about. Testing to see what works best for everyone, and implementing it.
I'm not personally familiar with DDO's mechanics... but you don't have to pay to progress...Shadowrun Online will NOT be "Pay To Win" and you can continue to progress on the F2P servers as long as you put the time in to the game, without spending real cash.

I'm just worry that you will make the game slower/more grindy to make people want to buy items from your shop for ftp and that will bleed over to the campaign model. that being said I'm backing this for now and just hoping that will not happen.
or is free to play going to be more like ddo where it pay to progress per slot?
that why I see btp better... you incentive is to make the game the most fun as possible to sell xpacks.
i'm sure there are somethings that the campaign model could bleed over to ftp but I cant think of them.

It's because just like chummers like you and me prefer the Campaign model, there are also lots and lots of gamers who prefer free to play. I hope they respect my preferences, because I respect theirs. The F2P isn't intended to be a demo for the Campaign servers. It's just a side benefit that people have the option to look around first! ^_^

I like the campaign server model too. i'm still worried that the fact they still have free to play will effect on the campaign server by changing the way the build the game.
I why they would just drop free to play and make a few levels or hours free as a demo.

THE MINIS - We plan for two sets of 4 miniatures, we would like to have them be metal, but this depends on how many backers we get. Some of the minis will be based on famous 6th world characters some on our in-game characters.We are talking to Reaper Miniatures about doing them. ^_^

That is an awesome looking streetsweeper. (I have no idea what it's called in the Shadowrun universe, but I bet most people know what I mean anyhow.)
I've put together papercraft models of game objects before, and I bet that thing would look awesome done as a fullsize papercraft.

Anyhow, my point is that you might consider a printable PDF papercraft of that gun for one of the reward tiers. They're a lot of work to design (I've never managed anything as complex as that) but so satisfying to put together. And they look awesome.
