A festival to celebrate the independence of undiscovered music and artist alike, all genres all walks of life.
What is the "UP THE STREET INDEPENDENT MUSIC FEST"?
"UP THE STREET" is the very first festival of its kind on such a large scale, for it will be entirely comprised off 100 percent independent and largely unknown artist. However, what the festival will lack in big names it will more than make up for in amazing talent; up-start bands across the country will finally get a chance to get their music heard by hundreds maybe even thousands of people as well as network with other up and comers. Music lovers who enjoy the thrill of finding new music will finally have a festival that not only speaks to their sense of discovery but also respects their diverse palette by offering a wide variety of genres from indie rock, pop, punk, electro, hip hop, techno, and everything in between. Finally and probably the most important fact about "UP THE STREET" is artist will never be chosen based off their fan base or online presence but rather solely from the music they make, simply put if it's good your picked if it's not your not picked. For now we do have to consider if the band is capable of traveling especially if they don't live in a neighboring state but eventually that issue will be resolved and we will be able to help bands who can't avoid to travel.
Where and When Will the Festival Be?
The festival will take place in Tempe, AZ at the beginning of 2013 possibly the end of January or beginning of February. The exact location is undecided but the festival most likely will take place at Tempe Beach Park.
Why 30,000?
Well getting such a large festival up and running is pretty expensive and we want to make sure that we get it right the very first time around. Understanding that things don't always go as planned we calculated that 30,000 we give us just enough wiggle room to cover the location, stages, equipment, and promo to make this festival a success. Therefore every single penny we get here from kickstarter will go to making this festival as great as it could possibly be.
What about the T-shirts?
All t-shirt designs will be printed on high quality 100 percent cotton tees available in sizes up to 2xl. Shirts will also be available in black.
