About this project
[out of nothing] is an electronic publication featuring new works in image, sound, text and the digital arts, as well as works located at the intersections between these media.
[out of nothing] #0 will be the first of several print anthologies issued. #0 will be a perfect-bound, full-color, 100 - 120 page limited, numbered (100 copies or less) edition of the journal, showcasing contributions from artists familiar as well as unfamiliar to readers of [out of nothing]. The theme of #0 will be: "theoretical perspectives on the substance preceding nothing."
All funds raised for this initiative will be dedicated to the design, layout and production of this object. A book that, on a material level, will be critically engaged with its virtual / online origins. A book that is disintegrating into or perhaps evolving against its will into some hybrid entity. A book that is equally pure information and paper, ink, glue. A book of books, and also a mere facsimile of a conventional book.
If successful, [out of nothing] #0 will be available by the winter of 2010 / 2011.
