The START poster is a compliation of the "Press Start" screen from nearly every NES game (790+!) made by an 8-bit fan for 8-bit fans.
I'm a child of the 80's with fond memories of coming home from school to a tv with a NES hooked up, turning it on, turning to snowy channel 3 and spending endless hours with Mario, Rad Racer, Little Nemo and countless other games ranging from amazing to horrible to impossible. (I will challenge anyone to a game of Burger Time!) I always thought that the start screens of these semi-forgotten and abandoned games that had been burned into my mind would make a really nostalgic piece of art somehow.
I set about compiling screenshots to nearly 800 mostly US released games I had collected. I attempted to automate the process, but that only worked for roughly half the games since the start screens appear at different times and with different button pressing combinations.
As I spent hours compiling the screens, I decided I would use the screens to create a mosaic of the word START. Vaguely motivational, but mainly it's just a premise to give all these screens the chance to be viewed again. I hope you enjoy it and feel the happy pangs of nostalgia that I felt while doing this project.

I'm not sure of the exact dimensions yet, but my goal is for each game screen (256px x 224px) to be clearly readable at a reasonable size.
