Hi There,

Hi Beloved Backers, 

It's been a while, so I thought you'd like to know what's going on with Andrew 12-Sided Dice Clay. 

VIDEOS

Seven videos have been shot and edited. They're very short and very funny, featuring a mix of stand-up, the comedian's personal life and the adventures of Dice's little buddy, Flat Stan Lee. 

DELAYS?

So the good news/bad news is I've optioned a TV series. That's bad because and I'm juggling the show-development with a full-time job and a family.  But please rest assured, like Guns N' Roses "Chinese Democracy" this web-series WILL be released. 

WHAT'S NEXT? 

We're taping more videos next month in New York at a live comedy show -- that means backers who signed-up for VIP tickets to a taping will get to attend. And if you didn't sign up, you can also attend (just not as VIPs.)  The show will feature stand-up from Andrew 12-Sided Dice Clay as well as some other special guests.  If you don't live in the area or choose not to attend, portions of the show will be made available as a digital download. 

AUDIO RECORDING

Another incentive/prize for backers was a digital download of a comedy show. I've recorded material for this and will be getting more in November. It's funny stuff and I can't wait to share it. It features some rare "Kevin Maher stand-up" and original sketches. 

MEDIA PLAN

Now that I have half-a-dozen videos of Andrew 12-Sided Dice Clay (with more coming) I have to figure out the best means of sharing the videos with the world. Recently a funded YouTube channel had contacted me and were interested in distributing the series. But it turns out that particular channel is run by a lunatic. Whew! We dodged a bullet, but we still don't have a media plan. I'll continue to work on this roll-out strategy, but first I've gotta finish these videos!

MUSIC AND GRAPHICS

There's an excellent logo that's been created for the series. And some really good music. 

FLAT STAN LEE

Flat Stan Lee has traveled extensively, snapping photos in Paris, Hollywood, Charlotte, Tampa, Queens and elsewhere. Besides appearing in A12SDC videos, Flat Stan will have his own website to showcase his adventures.  (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO)

Once again, I'm grateful for the opportunity to make these videos. Sorry it's taking so long, but luckily none of the filthy Star Wars jokes are too topical.

Greetings True Believers, 

I've completed principle photography on the first installment of Andrew 12-Sided Dice Clay. Naturally, the video series will feature lots of obscene geeky stand-up but this video is a little different. 

Remember on FAT ALBERT they'd watch THE BROWN HORNET cartoon (I'm guessing it was a cartoon, I mean how can really know since FAT ALBERT was a cartoon.)  Well in my web-series one episode will feature Andrew 12-Sided Dice Clay telling the story of FLAT STAN LEE. 

This is a parody of the popular children's book/phenomenon called FLAT STANLEY. 

The amazingly talented cartoonist Karen Sneider drew a version of Stan Lee, after he'd been flattened by an oversized hardcover edition of DAREDEVIL VOLUME 4.  

And the video follows the adventures of the comic-book-paper-thin Stan Lee.

Also, this tumblr page is an interactive series (since the entertainment industry dictates that all comedy be a "multi-platform interactive engagement") -- so click on "ABOUT" tab and learn how you can download your own Flat Stan Lee and send in photos for the site. 

Next month Mark Douglas (as Andrew 12-Sided Dice Clay) will narrate the origin story and continuing adventures of Flat Stan Lee.  We'll also be taping some of his stand-up at Boston's GEEK WEEK comedy festival, and probably recording some additional bits around Boston. Again, I'm thrilled to have your support in this ridiculous endeavor and I'm humbled by your enthusiasm.

p.s. I ended up doing only one performance at the Ohio Animation & Gaming Convention (where I played A12SDC.)  I did not get an audio-recording, so that means the free digital download is delayed. Apologies, a better recording is coming soon, even if it means taping one like a radio play.  On the upside, I did write a lot of stand-up material which will be showing up in the A12SDC videos. 

Hello Backers, 

Happy 2012, or as I like to call it 20-12 Sided Dice Clay: the year of the web-series. 

It's a working title. 

Here are some exciting updates. 

JANUARY: I scripted a lot of stand-up material for the 12-Sided Diceman. 

FEBRUARY: I'm starting the first video, which will include an interactive element.  The routine will premiere in March (see below.) 

MARCH: Mark Douglas (who plays A12SDC) is on tour and not available for the Ohio Animation & Gaming Convention, so *I* will take his place. Much like Doctor Who, James Bond or Tony Clifton -- there can be more than one actor in the role.  I'm doing a one-hour set, with two shows at the Con. I'll get audio-recordings of these performances to include on the digital download (that many of you will receive.) It'll feature material that won't appear in the web-show. 

APRIL: Mark will play Andrew at GEEK WEEK 2012, a comedy festival in Boston. I'm told his performance will be paired with guys from the "OverThinkingIt" website. (And I'll also be reprising "Kevin & Matt Geek Out About Sharks" for the fest.) We'll capture his stand-up set and tape around the convention.  We'll also be getting some material around NYC that month. 

I don't want to reveal too many details right now, but please know there's ridiculous material being developed.
