About this project
Tick Tock Time Emporium is an Alice in Wonderland-esque story about Max, a little girl with a sweet smile and a penchant for petty thievery who discovers a peculiar pawn shop on the edge of town where instead of selling jewelry or appliances, they buy and sell time. Good Time, Alone Time, Down Time, you name it, they have it. But when she gets caught stealing some pricey Enough Time, she discovers that the value of time is determined not by how good it is, but who you spend it with.
THE CAST:
We are very excited to announce the participation of Rachel Resheff (star of "3 Backyards" recipient of Sundance 2010's Best Director honors) as Max and Jeremy Lawrence (star of the horror classic "Critters") as Jasper, the proprietor of the Tick Tock Time Emporium.
HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED EXACTLY?
We've been fortunate to have much of our crew volunteer their time. However there are some crew members that we need and want to pay for their expertise.
• Crew $2,825
We found a wonderful location, the Adams Grist Mill, where we can build the walls of our shop and set up our lighting. They even have a lot of items we can re-purpose for set decoration. This was a great find that keeps our production design costs to a minimum.
• Production Design $2,700
Even with a lot of donations and discounts, our largest expense is moving, housing and feeding our crew for 2 weeks. Help us get them dinner!
• Transportation & location expenses $5,450
The look of the film is very important to us. We will be shooting with the RED camera and renting dollies and jib arms so that we can create beautiful motion shots.
• equipment $5,125
WHERE IS THE REST OF THE MONEY COMING FROM?
We have been able to raise some money to get us started but we need your help to round out our production budget. As Columbia University students, we thrive on the mantra that nothing is impossible. However, another facet to being Columbia students is debt. We have so much of it, it almost becomes a way of life. We'd love to be able to make this project without incurring further debt.
