CONVERSATIONS follows a group of friends preparing for a surprise party, and the web of romances that exist between them.
What is "Conversations?"
Conversations centers on a group of friends in Los Angeles (eliminate age because you allude to it) who struggle in romance, having reached an age at which they're more set in their ways, opinions and expectations. We observe the struggle through vignettes that portrait different members of the same social circle as they gather for a surprise birthday party.
How is "Conversations" being made?
We've been shooting this improv based film over the past three months on the favors and good will of an amazing cast and crew. Working for nothing, and donating time and equipment, we've managed to finish 70% of production over sporadic weekend and late evening production shoots. The film was cast from actors in the same social network, and we're pulling from experiences we relate to and are familiar with, giving the film a natural and "found" quality.
What will the funds pay for?
1. Art direction and equipment rentals for the final four production days.
2. A color session for finishing the film in post production.
3. Post production sound; mix, adr, and music.
4. Marketing and the festival circuit costs.
The creative team for this film is excited that we've been able to produce a work of this complex nature almost entirely with our own drive and perseverance. We're close, all we need is a little boost to get to the finish line.
