Chris Alvarado is making a vinyl record and wants you to be a part of it! Lets make the old new again.
Chris Alvarado is trying to raise money for a limited edition vinyl pressing of a very special album. The production of this record will be limited to only 200 units and will include several songs that have never been recorded and that will only be available on this record. The record will be pressed into a 12" format onto clear vinyls and packaged in white jackets and sleeves. The cover art will be a drawing with a variation on my current bowtie "theme" along the lines of Jason Mraz's cover art on "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things."
A 12" vinyl has a maximum play time of just over 22 minutes per side so I will have a maximum of eight tracks on this album and plan to include some of my favorite originals that are on my currect self titled release. I will be re-recording a few of the tracks to allow for a more organic interpretation of the songs and to provide a unique sound for this special project. I will also be recording three new previously unrecorded originals, including Godbye My Love, Endlessly, and a duet song that is co-written and performed with Kelsey Anna called "Hey there Mamma".
The goal of this Kickstart project is to help spread word about this project and to raise money for the production costs. The art of vinyl pressing is very labor intensive and time consuming, and therefore, expensive. I have recieved several quotes from manufacturers around the US, and my costs will be $2,200 for all of the recording, art design, pressing, packing and shipping. With the help of project backers, I hope to generate enough interest and pre-orders to cover the initial production costs and to be able to have this LP available by Late summer or very early fall of this year. Through backing my project at the $55 or more, you'll be able to reserve your copy of this LP and I will even handsign it and have your name printed in the liner notes! This gives me the unique opportunity to ensure that there is a demand for my record prior to investing money into it, and allows you the opportunity to be a part of this project and to help me out in a very personal way.
