Help build a time machine! Museo del Futuro, in collaboration with amazing community groups working with young people on the Mexico City periphery, are trying to raise enough money to build a modular structure of 'cells' that form a time machine! The skin of the cells will show participating youth's memories of the past, present realities, and ideas for the future. After they are assembled together, the machine will travel the city as a mobile museum on a semi trailer in June. At each tour stop, events featuring the youth and other cultural awesomeness will take place as the museum opens to public visits and intervention. After the tour, the time machine and curators will launch back to 2068, leaving behind a residents' "Vision toward 2068" with the city officials as they develop their priorities for the new political term that is elected into office on July 1.
Our construction workshop is on JUNE 2ND - help us make time travel a reality!
These are the cells that will grow into the time machine:

What???
The curators of the Museo del Futuro (Museum of the Future) crash-landed in Mexico City in 2012 by accident. They were en route from their present year, 2068, to 1968, to prepare an exhibition on this hugely historic year on its centennial anniversary. The accident left them with total amnesia of their present and no time machine, so for the last 5 months they have been asking people on the streets of Mexico City to help them "remember" their time and understand how it came to be. Thanks to all the insight they received from the public in many locations, they've been able to piece together several versions of a possible future 2068, from the worst imaginable to the utopian. But which one is the most likely??

As they learn from the youth from various parts of the city who build the cells of the time machine and show their visions for the future, and then see the public's reaction on tour, the curators will refine their memory of 2068. On the final stop of the tour, they will present this refined vision for 2068 to the city government.
Help us build 10 of these cells, and create the tour of minimum 5 stops through the city!
- Circo Volador, FARO Tláhuac, Programa de Jovenes de Iztapalapa ¡Préndete con tus Derechos! and Taller Ludens are all project partners who are doing amazing things in Mexico City in the present. The head curator of the Museum is Katarzyna Balug (aka .Exe), a Harvard University fellow in Mexico. The workshop will be held in the incredible space of FARO Tláhuac on June 2 and 3, and the tour will start there on June 15 with a futuristic dance performance by youth and a party for the community!
