About this project
Hello there!
This January, we have planned a super special secret show at San Louis Sounds in Broomfield, CO that will be recorded in front of a live audience. The studio is housed in an old pipe organ chapel complete with stained glass windows, old wooden walls and a vaulted ceiling - it's a beautiful space and it sounds great. Our good friend Carl Sorensen will be joining us on various percussive instruments ranging from bottles and cans to garbage lids and bike wheels. We'll be doing a whole lot of new music as well as some old favorites that have been staples of the set. The whole night will be recorded and released as a live album as well as filmed for a DVD. We can use all the help we can get to make this night happen! There are plenty of great rewards for donating. Also, check out the video above to see the studio and some of the things planned for the night, along with a short silent film comedy about a day in the life of an independent band.

Since forming in December of 2010, Chimney Choir has released two EPs and embarked on four tours in the US. Although steeped in American and World folk music, the trio is not afraid to experiment - embracing psychedelic synths, performance art, and found percussion (including a Samsonite suitcase, ladder, and a typewriter). The band is a true collaboration - members change instruments, blend their voices in harmony, and share lead vocal and songwriting. The debut EP, (feather), was recorded in an architectural antique warehouse, which gives a hint at the unique character of their sound. The second EP, (turtle), was released just 3 months later in August of 2011. A live EP of new material is in the works as well as tours across the US and over to Europe in Spring of 2012.
