Update #3: A Thanksgiving update about Musicians for Music 2.0 Venture Fund
Hello, donors of the Musicians for Music 2.0 Venture Fund campaign on Kickstarter!
Okay, so I know I have been bad with passing along updates in recent months, but this felt like a good week to say thanks and send along a quick update on progress we've been making!
First, we have a new web site: http://musiciansformusic2.com !
Designed by René Moffatt ( http://twitter.com/mynameisrene ) from http://musicaltype.com , I used $200 from the campaign to build a site that quickly explains to visitors what the project is all about, take a look at our presentation via Slideshare, see the media coverage we've received, download our budget forecast, and fan, follow, friend, and like us and all that good stuff so they can stay in touch!
Please feel free to share the http://musiciansformusic2.com link with folks you think would be interested and post on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. If you want to tag the project, our Twitter handle is http://twitter.com/musicians4music
Secondly, I've sent out hard-copy presentations to 20 high-profile musicians, including:
David Bowie
David Byrne
Dr. Dre
Bob Dylan
Madonna
Wynton Marsalis
Yo Yo Ma
Dave Mathews
John Mellencamp
Pearl Jam
Robert Plant/Jimmy Page
Prince
REM
Russell Simmons
Bruce Springsteen
Sting
U2
Wilco
Neil Young
John Williams
We haven't signed up our first investor...but I know that will be the hardest one to attract.
We're also working on getting more information on a second batch of potential investors so I can send those out early in the new year.
If you have access to any of these folks (or know how to reach 'em electronically!), please send them the link to http://musiciansformusic2.com
That's all for now...have a great Thanksgiving (you US residents) and I will update again soon!

Update #2: Next steps for the Musicians for Music 2.0 Venture Fund project
Hi, all...sorry for the silence of late...the last two months have been a tad crazy with helping with the launch of a new ride share service ( http://zebigo.com ), then starting a new position heading up marketing at http://ourstage.com.
Have spent the last few months having a few wise folks review/revise the materials I'm sending to prospective donors, I've gotten some great feedback to make it shorter, simpler, and smarter. If any of you would like to take a look and give me your feedback, too, I would be happy to send along!
I'm starting with a short list of artists who I think would be most interested in the concept of reinvesting in the music industry. These include:
David Bowie
David Byrne
Dr. Dre
Bob Dylan
Jay-Z
Madonna
Bob Marley's Estate
Wynton Marsalis
Yo Yo Ma
Dave Mathews
Pearl Jam
Robert Plant/Jimmy Page
Prince
REM
Russell Simmons
Bruce Springsteen
Sting
U2
Wilco
Neil Young
John Williams
This being a small world (after all), if you happen to have any contacts who might be able to help get the proposal into their hands, please let me know. I already have leads on a number of these folks, but let me know if you have another channel.
Thanks again for the donation...more updates to come soon!
