When do we get our books if we asked to have a book picked for us and sent, rather than picking one ourselves?

I've just watched all but one for the five book stores in my home town get closed down. And although it will take me a very long time to get to see the store in person (I'm in Australia) its always been a quiet dream of mine to open a store like the one you guys plan to. So I wish you even more luck than your having now with your venture and I'll keep following on Tumblr.

You may be double or triple funded by the time this is done!

I saw you on tumblr and thought you were completely inspiring. I grew up in a worn down city where there are NO bookstores--no cultural gathering places of any kind. It is just depressing because the city can not support them.

I was just so happy to hear a bookstore starting up with an original idea and a lot of heart, when all growing up I had to watch bookstores close down.

I'm so excited for you guys and will tell my friends to help out too.

I also don't live in Chicago, but I totally and completely back this project! The world needs more independent bookstores! Keep living the dream.

Uncharted Books is owned and operated by Tanner McSwain, a writer, publisher, blogger, and hopeless book nerd. Tanner is a graduate with honors from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, an award-winning fiction writer, and has considered Chicago's Logan Square home since 2008. His experience at McGraw-Hill and Agate Publishing taught him the ins and outs of marketing, publicity, and distribution from a publisher’s perspective, and a lifetime immersed in bookstores and library stacks has given him a curatorial eye. Fed up with the corporate life, he's now working to make Uncharted Books a reality and to give Logan Square the bookstore and literacy center it needs.
