Kickstarter

Hello!  My name is David, and because the Disney Princesses were demanding too much of my little niece's attention, I've written and illustrated a book entitled, CLEO!.  Cleo is a creative, little girl who loves to draw; not only because drawing is fun, but especially because her drawings literally come to life!  Here in Volume 1 (of a 3-volume series), she'll use her powers to elude the tentacles of Scary Godmother, a whimsy princess, and the wily Prince Alarming.  Cleo's mom and dad are also sure to entertain with super powers of their own...well, Dad doesn't really show what he can do until Volume 2; but see, now I've already said too much...

Yes, the book is finished!  Hearing the reaction of kids who have read the book has been so rewarding!  A couple of little girls have told me Cleo reminds them of themselves.  That is awesome.  Sometimes I get more excited than the kids get, telling them, "oh wait 'til ya' see Volume 2!  It's bananaaaaas!"

However, the demand from CLEO!'s public has exceeded our supply.  I've sold out of all the books I had available at www.cleoi.com, and a handful of bookstores from NY to LA are eagerly awaiting another print run.  Recently, I found a print house that specializes in large volume, high quality printing that can print enough books to stock all of these brick-and-mortar retailers and restock the CLEO! website within a few weeks.

My goal on Kickstarter is pretty simple: Raise enough money to be able to afford (re)printing CLEO! Volume 1.  The week I reach my $7,000 goal and receive these funds is the same week the printer will begin printing my books!  Not too long thereafter, you'll all receive your rewards!

So thank you so much for reading this far, and thank you so much more for even considering contributing to CLEO!, a book series that is very precious to me.  At this point I'm supposed to remind you if I don't reach my Kickstarter goal (of $7,000), I won't get any of the money that anyone has pledged so far, and everyone will be sad; so be sure to forward this page to all of your rich friends. ;P  Thanks again and I look forward to sending you rewards before long.

A note about the rewards: I beefed-up my rewards, but I was unable to make changes to the $100 reward because I had already received pledges for that amount.  So please know that if you contribute $100, you will receive • 4 copies of CLEO! Volume 1, autographed by both of the book's illustrators • a CLEO! "Click Print" sticker • your name will appear in the book's "thank you" section • an autographed original drawing.
