WHO IS THE URBAN CONGA?

We are a collective group of creators activating urban spaces through interactive installations.The Urban Conga stimulates urban spaces through exploration, activation, and above all interaction. The objective is to spark conversation between the public realm and the human body through interactive installations.

Our mission is to start The Conga Line! As we currently reside in Tampa, we intend to collaborate with artists and designers alike with hopes of creating eclectic and innovative ideas all over the world. The Urban Conga was founded by four energetic and ambitious thesis students at The University of South Florida School of Architecture, with like-minded passions to better communities with unused and overlooked urban spaces.

Tampa is the first targeted city, however with your support the Conga Line will expand and activate an array of public spaces within various cities. The Urban Conga is not a group of artists that creates static public art to make a dollar. Our philosophy is to inject care into local communities by accentuating and enhancing the beauty of the current urban conditions!

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

We want to keep the conga line growing! We need the ability to fund these designs and enhance the communities’ experiential wealth in turn creating a more viable social environment. With your help, The Urban Conga will vigorously work towards activating barren urban spaces and advance an ongoing collaboration of brilliant minds to create inventive interactive installations. Our vision is for you to approach us with concepts for installations in your local communities. With the right idea and funding, we will be able to make it a reality.
