Hi Julius, things are coming along, today i sent new 3D printed parts to the a manufacturer to review. We are finalising the key design elements. It is simpler and yet has more design features. I am holding back the full update until i'm absolutely sure i can ship. Things are still rolling on and i am happier with the look of the board than before. Kind regards, Nick.

Nick-
I hope things are going well. Just curious as to the status.
Thanks.
Creator Amin Lalani on January 29
Hey Nick.. Thanks for the update. I am in no rush but had been curious.
Creator Nick Hanigan on January 5
Hi amin, sorry for delay in getting back to you. Update: the hinge re-design is designed and just now going through proto-type stage. I am told this will take 2 weeks. From there i will more confidently be able to advise progress as dont wont to encounter faulty production run again (fyi. Im using different suppliers). Kind regards, NH.

Hello Nick... I was wondering if you had a status update.
Creator Paik on October 20, 2012
Thanks for the response, Nick. I want to stick it out with you and Diaxi. I know that issuing refunds is not free as most people probably think. You had to pay your acceptance fees from Amazon Payments and to Kickstarter. I also know that the boards and pieces look amazing and that I'd eventually buy one anyway so why make things harder for both of us : )
Glad to hear you're getting through it all! Keep up the hard work.

Hi Paik & friends,
A few people have written requesting a refund but most are holding in there to wait for the improved version 2. I have a plan that is coming together well i believe. I am seriously fine with whichever decision the customer decides on.
Best, nick.
Creator Paik on October 17, 2012
Hey Nick, just to confirm your last update, do you want EVERYONE to send you info for refunds or those that just don't feel like waiting for you to fix the issues? I'm fine waiting instead of getting a refund. Anyway, let us know and the best of luck getting the kinks worked out.
~Paik
Creator Nick Hanigan on August 23, 2012
Yes, just pulling items of info together. Give me over the weekend and I'll send you a full update then.
Creator AA on August 23, 2012
Nick, any updates?
Creator Nick Hanigan on June 12, 2012
Thanks Piak, not as smoothly as I had hoped. The production run of the current hinges has machine marks on the collar so we've had to re-do. I will send update shortly. ... best, Nick
Creator Paik on June 8, 2012
Hey Nick, wanted to check in on the progress. Hope everything is still running smoothly!

No worries. There is no rush, I was just wondering about the pace of the project. Appreciate your concern about the quality. I can wait longer if it means a better quality product in the end. Thanks.
Creator Nick Hanigan on April 23, 2012
Hi Ahmad, yes... I will send out update today. Short news is it was delayed during the quality review phase but is back on track now and looking at end of May instead of end of April. Kind Regards, Nick
Creator AA on April 16, 2012
Hi Nick,
Any updates on the shipping timeline?
Thanks,
Ahmad

Hmm, but you can take some comfort that you are winning that game. Yes, playing in person on a great board is better. Perhaps that will happen one day too. Thanks for your advice along the way. ~ Nick.
Creator Paik on March 7, 2012
Congrats, Nick! Looking forward to playing on this beautiful board. It's too bad our Chess with Friends game doesn't look or feel nearly as nice!

Thanks Rob, Thank Chris!!! I love your work and says so much to have guys of your calibre supporting our dream!
Creator Rob Ward & Chris Peters on March 2, 2012
Congrats Nick, on gettin 100% funded! I wanted to back your project sooner but I was it the process of changing amazone accounts. Anyway well done mate another Aussie success story on Kickstarter!
Creator Nick Hanigan on February 15, 2012
Ahh, yeah. The numbers are a little jumbled - i can't change them once someone has backed the item. (This pledge will include chess pieces too).
Creator Jussi Myllyluoma on February 15, 2012
The $170 limited board level says "as per item #7" ... am I right in guessing it means #5 (i.e. the $188 reward)?

Jennifer let me post this on her behalf: tail gates for it's.. You could imagine the sides even being able to be lifted out and used as a work platform! Magic!
