Kickstarter is an all or nothing platform so we set our goal at a level that we were hopeful we could hit in a limited time frame.  Our ideal budget for the Paris section of the shoot is $20,000.  Film is a very expensive medium.  The more money we can raise will not only help to alleviate the stress that is compounded when in production with less money than you really need, but also will directly influence the film's production value and thus the overall quality of the film itself - with a higher budget the film will be able to be more fully realized.

WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

“Suicide or Lulu and Me in a World Made for Two” is a black comedy, science fiction film. It is the story of a young man named Jorge who has created two inventions: a camera, named Pandora’s Camera, that has the ability to duplicate and preserve reality, and a pair of glasses that can inject memories into the viewer's mind. Using Pandora’s Camera Jorge attempts to capture and preserve a perfect moment of happiness between him and his lover.

What unfolds is a story of obsession, madness and revenge. A story of intrigue that traverses across the world from a foreboding house in Oklahoma City to the open boulevards of Paris, to the alpine peaks of Colorado and to an ultimate conclusion in the high desert of New Mexico. It is the story of a young man obsessed with creating a perfect world; a young woman in search of who she is; and an old scientist who has turned his back on science and civilization. It is a thrilling tale (riddled with absurdities and therefore humor) about the extremes that man will go for perceived happiness.

WHAT DO WE NEED?

Only 60% of “Suicide or Lulu and Me in a World Made for Two” has been filmed. We need to raise at least $20,000 to complete shooting the film.  The last forty percent of the film is set in Paris.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH THE MONEY RAISED?

We will complete photography on our film!  The film will be 100% in the "can".  With 20 thousand dollars we will pay for transportation to Paris, hire a small crew, feed the crew, rent a camera and production equipment, secure film locations... make our film a reality!  Any monies raised beyond $20,000 will make the movie even better!

WILL I BE ABLE TO FOLLOW THE PROJECT AFTER I PLEDGE?

Yes.  Everyone who pledges will receive email updates about the progress of the film.

WILL THE AMOUNT OF MY PLEDGE BE PUBLICLY SHOWN?

No, only your name will show on the "Backers" list - not the amount pledged.

WHEN DO YOU GET YOUR INCENTIVE?

You will receive your incentive after we reach our funding goal!  If its a DVD you will receive it when the film is completed! 

ARE THE REWARDS IN FRENCH DIFFERENT FROM THE REWARDS IN ENGLISH?

Nope, they are exactly the same rewards - just translated into French!

CAN WE RAISE MORE THAN OUR GOAL?

Absolutely - as we only receive funding with Kickstarter if we reach our funding goal we have put it on the low end of the spectrum.  With more money we will be less stressful and the film will only look better!  We will also to be able to use any extra money we raise now to help cover final post production costs.

WHY SHOULD YOU GIVE?

“Suicide or Lulu and Me in a World Made for Two” is the first feature film that Christian Carroll, director and writer, Adeline Thery, actress and producer, and Alexander Drecun, director of photography, have made together.  We are making props, innovating in order not to sacrifice quality, doing everything with a lot of love, but film-making is expensive and nothing can be moved forward without financial support. "Suicide or Lulu and Me in a World Made for Two" est un long métrage écrit et réalisé par Christian Carroll.

Une comédie noire, mélange d'intrigue et de science fiction. C'est l'histoire d'un jeune homme nommé Jorge qui a crée deux inventions: Une caméra "la caméra de pandore" qui possède le pouvoir de dupliquer la réalité mais aussi de la préserver pour toujours, et une paire de lunette qui injecte des souvenirs dans l'esprit de la personne qui les porte. En usant la caméra de Pandore Jorge tente de capturer et de préserver un moment parfait de bonheur entre lui et la femme qu'il aime. Ce qui suit est une histoire d'obsession, de folie et de revanche. Une histoire d'intrigue qui traverse le globe: d'une sombre maison à Oklahoma, aux boulevards parisien en passant par les pics montagneux du Colorado jusqu'à une ultime conclusion dans le désert du Nouveau Mexique. C'est l'histoire d'un jeune homme obsédé par l'idée de créer son monde parfait; d'une jeune femme en recherche d'elle même; et d'un vieux scientifique qui a tourné le dos à la civilisation. De quoi avons nous besoin?

Seulement 60% de "Suicide or Lulu and Me in a World Made for Two" a été filmé. Nous avons besoin de récolter 20 000$ pour terminer le tournage à Paris. Les 40 % du film qui restent à réaliser prend place à Paris.

Que va t-il se passer après avoir récolté cet argent?

Nous allons pouvoir terminer ce film!

Avec ces 20 000$ nous allons pouvoir payer le voyage jusqu'à Paris, engager une petite équipe (son, lumière, costume, maquillage, accessoires…), nous nourrir, louer une caméra ainsi que du matériel, faire de notre film une réalité! Si nous pouvons récolter plus de 20 000$ le résultat sera ENCORE plus époustouflant! 

Quand allez vous recevoir votre cadeau?

Vous recevrez vos promesses après que notre but soit marqué! Hé oui, si nous ne pouvons pas arriver à 15 000$ nous perdons TOUT! Pour le DVD il faudra attendre la fin fin de la réalisation du projet.

Peux t-on récolter plus que notre objectif?

Absolument!

Comme nous recevons notre financement seulement par Kickstarter, nous avons du mettre notre objectif plus bas que le budget ne l'est dans la réalité. Avec plus d'argent nous serons moins stressé et le film ne s'en portera que mieux! Nous serons également en mesure d'utiliser tout l'argent supplémentaire que nous récoltons aujourd'hui pour aider à couvrir les coûts de post-production finale.
