Update #5: AUSTIN CITY RECAP!!!

Posted on September 28, 2011
Hello to all!

Well...I just wanted to touch base and tell everyone about Austin City Limits and let you know that we had the most INCREDIBLE time down in Austin!!!
Wow, I don't even know where to begin!

We drove straight from Nashville to Austin, or uh...maybe I should say my trusty bandmate David Grant (drummer extraordinaire) drove the ENTIRE WAY from Nashville on Thursday September 15th...that's about 15 hours! Needless to say, we got to Austin late Thursday night and got a good night's rest...

Friday was our day to acclimated to the festival grounds, etc, so we hit the fest and were able to check out some music! I got to see everyone from Delta Spirit to James Blake, as well as hear and visit with my friend Ray LaMontagne. Ray and I went and checked out some music by a guy named Gary Clark Jr.. Gary is a blues guitarist that hails from Austin, and he was amazing. We were floored!

Friday night I found myself down on 6th Street to meet up and hang for a moment with another dear friend Dallas Green, who was also playing at ACL. Dallas releases his music under the name City and Colour. His voice to ethereal and so beautiful. I hadn't seen him since we met and wrote a song together back in April of 2010. It was wonderful to see him again, and I also recommend his music if you haven't heard of him!

Then on Saturday morning we woke up very early and performed two song's live at a place called Threadgill's, as part of a live morning show broadcast for one of my favorite radio stations in the country, Austin's own KGSR. It was the perfect way to get warmed up for our performance on Sunday. And it was also such an honor to be asked by KGSR to perform at this event. (The pics of me in the brown dress were from the Threadgill's performance)

After we performed that morning, my bandmate's and I went and ate some authentic Tex-Mex food at Guero's, which is a MUST for anyone who visit's Austin. I then took the rest of the day on Saturday off to chill out and rest in order to prepare for our performance the next day.

Then Sunday rolled around and we got to fest around 11 a.m...and all I can is that ACL is one of the best festival's in the country for a reason. It is like a well oiled machine...everything flowed very smoothly and all of the people working at the fest were so kind and made everything so easy and wonderful for all of us. Thanks BMI and C3 productions...

We took the stage about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday September 18th, and had a blast! I have enclosed pictures for everyone to see...

And once again, I just want to thank EVERYONE who helped to make this performance a reality for me and my band. I also want to thank my band member's for being such pro's and for contributing their talent's to my music. It was a magical experience in every way, shape and form, and it was able to happen BECAUSE OF YOU!

I am eternally grateful and will be getting the 3rd and 4th tier rewards out to everyone in the next month and a half. Bare with me, the posters are being made and I have a photo shoot scheduled next week! At which point, I will get the pics developed, printed up and mailed out to everyone!
I am currently back in Nashville and settling into life again, getting everything squared away with the release of my record next year. I will surely keep you all posted on the progress of everything as it develops.
Thank you again and I love you ALL!!!

My Very Best,

Courtney

YOU ARE A GEM! For this donation I will give you my child…meaning, the guitar I have owned and played since 2005. This guitar is seen in most of my live photo's (also is the guitar I am playing in this Kickstarter video/profile pic!), and has been through SO MUCH with me over the years. It has given life to many songs, and I love it with all of my heart. It’s a tobacco burst Taylor 814 with mother-of-pearl inlay, and comes equipped with a custom made, heavy duty Calton flight case. I will sign and send after ACL Fest to wherever you may be (U.S. only)!
