My name is Courtney Jaye. I am an artist from Nashville, Tn. I write and sing a style of music that I refer to as 'Tropicalicountry'.
Strange name I know, simply it's the combination of classic country, vintage pop, with a liiiittle bit of Hawaii thrown in for good measure (I used to live on the island of Kauai, hence the Hawaiian influence!).
So here's my story...
In early 2010, I was approached to make a record with Nashville producer, Mike Wrucke (Mike is widely known for his work with country artist Miranda Lambert). We tracked the record live in LA and completed it in February '11 in Nashville. The result is an album that I am very proud of called "Love and Forgiveness", and I simply CANNOT WAIT to share it with you all next year...
Earlier this year, I was invited to perform at this year's Austin City Limits Music in September in Austin, Tx. This will be my first major U.S. festival performance, and the lineup is in INSANE which includes Stevie Wonder, Fleet Foxes, Kanye West, and (one of my faves) My Morning Jacket...and the list of other amazing bands performing seems endless. Needless to say, I am honored and thrilled to be a part of this year's lineup!
Currently, I remain a fully independent artist and lack access to the significant financial means and/or tour support from a label or other third party that can help me and my band actually get to the fest.
So this is where you come in...I am hoping to raise $10,000 which will go towards ALL expenses such as gas, food, lodging, van and trailer rental, payment for my 4 band members as well as rehearsal space rental in Nashville prior to the show.
I also need new album cover/promotional press photo's taken and would like to do so with a really talented LA based photographer (donations will go towards his fee as well travel/transportation/lodging for him to either come to Nashville or for me to go to LA-yet to be determined). In addition, I'd like to make 4 killer multi-media videos of me performing acoustic versions of new songs from the album to be used online, YouTube, Facebook and other social media outlets prior to the album being released out to the world...
These necessary costs all add up reeally quickly and I simply cannot do it alone. So this is where I'm appealing to you, my fans and friends, for assistance. I am asking for any and all donations that can help with all of this, so that I can move forward and get this show on the road...record label or not!
On the right side of this page are a list in incentives based upon each donation amount. I had a TON of fun coming up with all of the incentives. And please know, EVERYTHING that gets sent out from me in return for your donation is coming directly from me...I want to thank you personally for your help, should you decide to donate!

Courtney has also had the opportunity to work with many different artists over the years, including Taj Mahal, Rhett Miller, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dallas Green of City and Colour, Thad Cockrell, Floating Action, Jessie Baylin, Matthew Sweet, Band of Horses, Tift Merritt, and Emily Saliers of The Indigo Girls.
