SUMMARY: This is a call for all art-lovers to help fund the recording and creation of a new album of intoxicating, uplifting, otherwordly music from the British Afghan musician (MC/Producer-Singer/Songwriter) Yusuf 'Yoshi' Misdaq. Aside from all the great rewards, your money will:
- Fully fund 40 hours of recording time in a professional
studio (Cue Recording) in Falls Church, Virginia; with the addition of some travel expenses for a few performing musicians (coming in from Baltimore, New York) - Fully fund the pressing of the CD's; design, printing and assembly of LP-booklet and packaging
- Fully fund the Digital Mastering process needed for an iTunes/Amazon release.
- Any additional funding over the initial goal will be used to fund the planned "Free Like Air US Tour," which takes place in the Autumn of 2012. This planned tour is a series of ---free--- music concerts, poetry readings and writing workshops for students, babies, the elderly and everyone in between across the continent of North America, starting from the East Coast and ending on the West Coast.
- Yoshi has taught Creative Writing & Creativity Workshops at New York University, George Washington University, and the University of Brighton in the UK.
- This is his 4th Studio LP

This is the time! What is the time? The time for more heart than you ever thought could fit on a CD. The time for more soul. The air of our world is crying out for a music that is new. A way of speaking that breaks through the old ways. Something to match our rising hopes.
Revolutions roll, and the weather of the world right now seems to be whispering the possibility that Creativity and Music will save us. But the weather on the TV-News tells us otherwise. The professional meteorologists predict overcast skies, scorching suns, more death and no likely peace-deals on the horizon. The comfortable newsmen are desperate to proclaim this bad news in loud voices with their made up faces, they are eager to shout it down, far and wide, so that they can look more credible through pessimism and keep you totally tuned in to their small soap opera with the sad ending. Don't listen.

Because music is important. Read the above quote from John Coltrane and KNOW that while quick changes (i.e. revolutions, controversies, coups) all have very visible effects, slow and lasting change only comes through Culture & Education. 'Art' is the thing between directly in between Culture and Education. Music is the heart of Art. It changes whole societies invisibly, indirectly. The power of a righteous artist with a righteous mission is something you cannot calculate. So don't try, just know that it is immense. As you may have noticed, most artists these days are content enough with a splash of fame and some money, the ability to chase after their desires for a bit longer before time catches up with them. For most of them, it would be crazy to compare themselves to people like Bob Marley, a man who changes the world with his love. They don't want to hold themselves to a standard like that. But then some other artists today want to do what Bob Marley did, and then they want to completely surpass it, not stopping until they are achieving Alexander the Great-type victories in the peace fields of World-Love and Unity.
