About this project
I want to create archival, high-resolution prints of all my paintings and collages from the last six years. I could go to a professional print shop for this, but the overall cost would be considerable. Because I'm more interested in having control over the printing process myself, and since most of my work is sized so that it would be appropriate for a large-format home printer that uses archival inks, I'm looking to purchase one of these printers. I’ll be using these archival prints, among other prizes, as a reward for pledging.
The money will be used for the purchase of the printer as well as the fine-art paper and ink that is also needed for this project.

Anyone who is receiving original art can expect that to ship out in mid-July. Folks who are receiving prints, will have to wait a little longer. I'm moving from LA to Austin, TX on Aug 1, and therefore the prints will not be ready until late August/Sept 1 at the earliest. I will contact each of you the second week of July to determine which prints you'd like and to verify your shipping address. I was born and raised in Tennessee, but now I live and make my art on a hilltop in east Los Angeles. I work in oil and acrylic, and also in mixed-media collage. I’m inspired by antique silk textiles; I look for patterns and shapes that catch my eye and work them into unique, abstracted “landscapes” into which I weave reoccurring favorite shapes and images drawn from various personal interests such as ecology, cartology, mythology, and biology. Once I start to achieve something I like with these patterns, I incorporate the figurative elements, usually line drawings that interact with the landscape. My figures come from multiple sources, referencing history, pop culture, or other art, and with them I strive to create a narrative that feels iconic and familiar, but is also surprising and alluring.
