About this project

(The above video is an interview with our writer and director, Sarah C. Kreutz on the inspiration for the "Gardner & Wells" project and how the setting has inspired the story's development.)

"Gardner & Wells" is a new feature-length project filming in the Sacramento region of Northern California. A Gothic Ghost story inspired by the art, style and grace of Hollywood’s Golden Era, we need your support to help us create this haunting journey!

WHY GIVE?

Because every dollar you give supports the continuation of the spirit of independent American filmmaking.

Because helping out gets you some seriously cool swag...for this project AND our previously completed film, "Elsa Letterseed."

Because you love movies and would be a truly integral participant in the creation of an exciting new project.

Because you get to be a movie producer without any of the hard work!

THE SYNOPSIS:

A dying town, a faded funeral home, whispered secrets...a gothic ghost story. After the untimely death of their father and his business partner, two sisters, Margaret and Meriweather, inherit the "Gardner & Wells" Funeral Home and embark on a haunting journey. Two sides of a coin, both are seekers--one looks inward for the meaning of life while the other yearns for a life with meaning. Their respective searches, however, lead them down a path that forces them to question the very ideas of good and evil, life and death, the real and imaginary.

Who can be trusted?

"Gardner & Wells" is a supernatural story of loss, redemption and resurrection. Join us in exploring the possibility that the "things that go bump in the night" might just hold the key to life's deepest mysteries.

THE GOAL:

We're attempting to raise $12,500 to get the our second film project off the ground. Representing a portion of the total film budget, your assistance will be a huge help as we bring our ghost story to life.

A portion of the funding also includes the creation of a behind-the-scenes look at the independent filmmaking process. Giving back to our fellow up-and-coming filmmakers and film lovers, we want to create a "Gardner & Wells" website that not only promotes the film, but educates interested film lovers. With a look at how we create mood, design lighting and costumes, choose locations, and develop the storytelling narrative, the site will give viewers an honest look at the challenges, travails, joys and triumphs in making an independent film.

OUR MISSION:

We love films. We also truly believe in a film's ability to entertain and inspire. Road Trip Films develops projects with intriguing story lines and strong character development, all without the use of gratuitous language, sex and violence. We are devoted to resurrecting the art, style and grace of Hollywood’s Golden Era for new audiences to enjoy.

If you also believe that films can entertain and inspire, please donate. Your generosity will help us work towards our mission! THANK YOU!
