It’s been 3 weeks since we’ve launched our project, and we already have 22 Backers and $2,536 in the pot! Thank you to all our loyal Friends of the Arts for believing in us and wanting to be part of this grand experience! _____________ Bringing Rasta Thomas’ and his dancers back to Turks & Caicos is no exception to fulfilling our mission. We will be doing outreach for our children all over the island. There is even talk that we will fly them over to Grand Turk! ________________ Rasta Thomas and his dancers first came to TCI in June 2002 when they were teenagers and gave us our first performance at Williams Auditorium, alongside David Bowen’s newly formed cultural group TUCA – An Evening of Dance, Music and Drama! ______________ They came again in May 2006 and put together a most exciting show entitled, For the Love of Dance! We brought them to the Graceway Sports Centre to do lecture/demonstration workshops for the children, as TCFAF bussed in over 800 children for this event. Now they have become a highly acclaimed dance company* who is touring the world to rave reviews. Can you believe that amidst their hectic touring schedule, they have agreed to come back to Turks and Caicos this May. We are so honored that they are coming, and so honored that you have become a backer, supporting us in this endeavor! ____________ Did you know that it was Rasta's For the Love of Dance in TCI, that gave him the idea to form The Bad Boys back in 2006. For the Love of Dance featured 4 of the best male dancers in the world all on our stage ---- Rasta Thomas, Danny Tidwell, Robbie Nicholson, and Nick Lazzarini, along with Adrienne and Ashley Canterna and Melody Lacayanga, and hosted by the dance legend, George de la Pena! __________________ *Who are the Bad Boys of Dance?
