A true storytelling dinner theater serving bespoke courses inspired by each performance.

DEAR BACKERS - THANK YOU SO MUCH! We want to clarify for all of you coming to get tickets that backing our Kickstarter ensures you

* Free speciality cocktail with every ticket!

* Priority seating at the event!

* Formal recognition of donors at the event!

Our general admission tickets are available via our Eventbrite page.

Imagine a dinner party where every story spun across the table was kindling for the courses to come. Where a summer vacation to Sicily gets interesting in a hurry and plunges straight into a tantalizing al dente mystery in sauce and spice.

Eat My {Heart} Out is a true storytelling dinner theater serving a unique menu of courses whose ingredients and plating are metaphoric and artistic expressions of the performers' stories. Founded by writer/director Eugene Ashton-Gonzalez and chef Luke Davin, we executed our proof-of-concept supper club at the bewitching Winkel Studio in Brooklyn this past March. To our immense surprise, we booked our eighty covers in under 72 hours. Our guests and performers were clamoring for us to host another one. That's where you guys come in.

We want even more of you to be able to experience this show the second time, so we are finding a larger venue, cooking on professional equipment, and booking some of the country's finest storytellers for an even grander experiment in narrative dining.

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS are going directly towards helping us RENT THE SPACE for the party - other than that, we're doing this all out of pocket to bring the storytelling and food worlds together for a seriously lovely dinner party.

The show is the evening of TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9th at a loft in Brooklyn. If you can't make it (or don't live in New York), have no fear! We want to keep producing these and your support of this campaign will ensure there will be another chance to catch this show very soon!

Our phenomenal PERFORMERS at the show on October 9th include:

Ophira Eisenberg (Host of NPR's Ask Me Another)
Adam Wade (Moth GrandSlam champion, record 18-time winner of The Moth's StorySlams)

Dodai Stewart (Deputy Editor, Jezebel.com)

Andy Christie (Host and Producer of The Liar Show)

Emmy Blotnick (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)

Our KITCHEN TEAM met at the French Culinary Institute in New York and have externed and worked in restaurants all around New York including Roberta's, Gramercy Tavern and Yuji Ramen.

THE BACK STORY:

Our founders, Luke and Eugene, met over beers at Pacific Standard on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn and discovered a shared love for storytelling and food. Inspired by This American Life, The Moth, and the numerous storytelling shows and podcasts circulating around New York, Luke wanted to find a way he could express his stories with the craft he was perfecting at the French Culinary Institute. Eugene had been running storytelling shows in New York for five years and had a feeling he and Luke could make it happen. Together, with the help of a dedicated bunch of friends, we cast, cooked, tasted, and designed the dual menu/playbill that became our first show's five course experiment. It never would have happened without the help of our dedicated friends Miguel de Leon, Caitlin MacCrae, Matthew Hannigan, Christina Ng, Cal Egan, Steven Berkowitz, Albert R. Matheny IV, Ariel Samach, Kaitlin Fritz, Stephanie Petagno, Emily Holleman, Sara Kinney, Kathleen Miller, Mark Winkel, and Ida Benedetto.
