Way back in August I was assistant directing The Three Musketeers with Barta Heiner http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0374378/ .  While we were waiting to start a run thru, the executive manager of The Covey Center said to me, "Do you want the black box next summer?"  I was stunned and quickly answered "Yes!"

It's not everyday a young director is offered a space and the opportunity to have a public, professional venue and show.

For the next several months, I poured over scripts.  Deep in December, I listened to the song Try to Remember, and inspiration hit.  The Fantasticks.  That was it.  That was my show.  ...How the heck can I do that show?

Much like Matt and Luisa, I feel like my jorney to produce and direct The Fantasticks is always being told "NO!"  I've hit wall after wall, but I am determined and committed to this project.  Auditions are in one week and I want my actors to come into a financially comfortable production.  I don't think local actors are ever paid enough for their work.  I want them to get what they're working for.  They're hard working, qualified actors and they deserve it!
