A video to promote a presence of dance in Cleveland. This video will feature local dancers and a song dedicated to the CLE!
"This city, is my city, and I love it."
In April of 2012, I saw a live production of a piece of hip-hop choreography by Maria Puglisi entitled, “Mah City” at a dance production at The University of Akron. As soon as the piece started, I knew it would be the new dance anthem in Cleveland. Maria used a group of University of Akron dancers clad in Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Cavs gear to show her love for our fair city. She used the Cleveland version of the song, “This City” by Patrick Stump as the music. Through precise, skilled, and entertaining movements enthusiastically executed by her dancers, Maria’s piece of choreography bleeds CLEVELAND through dance! My project will fund the shooting of a video of Maria’s piece at the Rock and Roll Hall of fame and East 9th Street Pier in Cleveland. This video will be produced and used as the anthem for Cleveland to see a presence of dance in this city (MY CITY) once more!
