BR Walls Project, Privé and & Woman's Hospital are partnering to host a fashion show fundraiser on October 18th at Hartley/Vey Theatres at the Manship Theatre. All funds raised will benefit Woman's Hospital's breast cancer outreach and education programs, including the Mobile Mammography Coach, which reaches thousands of women in eighteen Louisiana parishes. 

Bras will be handmade by local artists and adorned with paint, jewelry, metal, photography, poetry, fabric, glass, mixed media or any medium that the artist chooses. The art-bras will be worn by a mix of Breast Cancer Survivors and models and then auctioned off that evening via a silent auction. • Harrington's Cafe (@ 329 Florida Street) is an culinary institution in downtown BR adored for their crawfish etouffe, poboys, and signature salads. To celebrate the completion of the BR Walls Project on their building, Craig and Lacey Harrington will be hosting a family reunion dinner - and the whole BR WALLS Community is invited. Past and current employees from the past 12 years will be joining the Harrington family to enjoy a sampling of the menu as well as debuting Lacey's Healthy Lunch items now available daily. There will be ice cream served for the kids and lighting provided to enjoy the mural artwork by Wall #2 artist Joseph Konert.

• Next door at the Mentorship Academy will be the book signing & release party by BR Walls board member, Dr. Brian Dixon. This will be a great opportunity to hear Brian speak about his book on social media, meet his family, and to learn more about the ground-breaking work he is doing with his downtown charter school. Beer & Wine will be served courtesy of the Camelot Club, and is FREE to the public. For the grand finale' the imagery for the upcoming Wall #3 will be unveiled by Launch Media outside on Florida St...you'll have to come to see it first!

Very happy to announce our selected Mural finalists for the BR Walls painted murals.  As this project progresses (& additional funds raised) we look forward to working with these artists and working with building owners to select the right artist for their walls.

Keep an eye on the Walls Facebook page over the next few weeks for we will be showcasing each of these artists’ works.  Thank you to our jury panelists and all the artists that submitted their work.  We will be announcing finalists for the Lamar Advertising printed vinyl component of the project on Thursday May 17th.

To keep the momentum moving forward, we are inviting you to ‘WORK DIFFERENT’ and join us for a day-long TELETHON in the lobby of the Hotel Indigo, tomorrow Thursday, April 26th from 8am - 6pm.  

Bring laptops, chargers, smartphones and your rolodex, and collaborate for an hour or for the day in our telethon mission control virtual space. There will be a floor leader present all day to introduce and review a sample script with FAQ’s and talking points on BR WALLS. 

Casual and fun attire is encouraged – and thank you in advance for joining our ‘Make it Happen’ committee!  Please note that from 4-7 pm, Hotel Indigo is donating 25% of all food sales to benefit the BR Walls Project! AND, 25% of sales from Absolute Vodka, Bacardi, Jack Daniels, Dewars, and Hendricks Gin will benefit the cause too.  SO, come down to hang out , relax and have fun with us.

4/26 Hot Off the Press Party @ Zolia - 6pm.  Lets come together post Telethon to celebrate coming together on hitting our Kickstarter goal & beyond.  

4/28 Happy's 5000 : 5-10pm : The Walls will be creating an art installation 'Happy's Feet' from 5-7pm at the Start/Finish line for this year's race.  Come join local artist Christopher Turner & other BR Walls Project members to enjoy MUSIC + FOOD + ART + EXERCISE in the Town Square.
