Guardians of Pangea is a family friendly series that explores a rich world of fantastical creatures and inventive individuals.
When I was young, my mother read books to me. When I grew older, I read anything and everything that was available. After a few hundred books, I started hearing strange comments from librarians and other adults regarding that they separated off one ‘type’ of book from another. ‘Children’ was a separate section from ‘Young Adult’, and both were removed from the ‘Adult Fiction’. Yet I enjoyed a well written book of any 'type', and found it a bother to walk all over the building. I thought that it would be better if the librarians' job would be to just put the ‘Well Written Books’ type in a single section, so that less of my time would be wasted wandering their building. I learned much later—from professors, mind you—that some books could be enjoyed at two or three times in one’s life (e.g., the works of Lewis Carroll), and enjoyed for different reasons, though I found this one of the most difficult discussions to start at a party. It took the wunderkind J. K. Rowling to show that readers of all ages could enjoy the same book. May her name be blessed for the ages for this, for making reading fun again for younger readers, and for creating books that whole families could read and discuss together.
I do not put my writing into the same level as either of the above writers, but I long believed that a book could be written to appeal to many ages. This is my attempt with the Guardians of Pangea series.
This Kickstarter campaign is a mission to launch the Guardians of Pangea family friendly fantasy steampunk series—Book 1—with numerous illustrations (at least 18), to show off the intriguing races, characters, and woodpunk items (regarding the last, this world’s latest and greatest inventions are a different version of steampunk).
If Kickstarter patrons can fund $3,800, then I can finish the first book, Guardians of Pangea, Book 1: The Worm in the Wood and cover the costs of the illustrations that will grace the series. Three original illustrations have been commissioned already—Sara, Jumu, and Councilor Minteala have been illustrated by the artist Moa Wallin—and these appear in the video and at my website. My website also has the first six chapters of Book 1, as well as other tidbits from the world of Animus.

Novelette
If the funding reaches at least $12,000, then all patrons pledging $50 or more will receive the prequel novelette Angels’ Peak through Smashwords.
Two more books in series
If the funding reaches at least $18,000, then all patrons pledging $100 or more will be listed in the first, second, and third novels, forever. Each of these patrons will also receive the second and third ebook as gifts through Smashwords as well (if the patron was already receiving either or both of these books, then for these additional books, each download code can be given to a friend as a gift).
Fourth Novel
If the funding goes over $20,000, then I will reward this most generous amount of appreciation by putting all patrons pledging $100 or more in the Patrons’ List of the fourth novel, forever. Each of these patrons will also receive the fourth ebook as a gift through Smashwords as well (if the patron was already receiving either or both of these books, then for these additional books, each download code can be given to a friend as a gift).
