May Day Update!
With just one day left to go, we have reached our fundraising goals and more! Thank you so much for your support!
Today is May Day, an ancient spring fertility holiday as well as International Workers Day! This day was founded to commemorate the deaths of 7 anarchists who were killed by the state of Illinois in 1886 (look up "The Haymerket Affair"). They were were organizing strikes in Chicago for the 8-hour day, and were framed and executed by the state for their activities.
Today is a day to remember the efforts and sacrifices of those who have come before us, who brought us the rights that we now enjoy in our daily lives. Take some time to celebrate and thank your elders!
We still have about 24 hours left to go on the campaign and donating now will still be a wonderful and effective way to contribute to our costs. Today is a good day to spread the word about our project, and let people now that Blair Pathways is working to make our labor history come alive again.
