Update #2: Update # 2
Hi all, I just got great news: The Gerald R Ford Library has agreed to host "Colors of Time" at ArtPrize in September. I was crossing my fingers on that one, believe me. The Ford was my first choice because the people are really pleasant to work with, the location is fantastic for viewer traffic, the space is lovely, and the piece will have a tie-in with Ford's presidency. While in office, he doubled the size of the Grand Canyon National Park and returned 185,000 acres to the Havasupai tribe who had been denied access to their farmlands by a previous treaty. Thanks again and again for your support! -Nancy
Update #1: Thanks so much / Clarification
I am amazed at the support to date - almost halfway there. Thanks so much.
Apparently, it was unclear how donations can be tax deductible. "Colors of Time" is being funded by the Minerva Project, Inc (a 501c-3 organization). Your generous contribution will be acknowledged by Minerva and all the proceeds will go to "Colors of Time". I set it up this way so that my backers can take advantage of the tax deduction if they are eligible (according to IRS rules).

Nancy McKay earned a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University in textile arts. However, self-guided study, experimentation, and visual immersion in nature have formed the basis of her artistic endeavors. She believes that both art and nature are uplifting, healing, and empowering. During 2011, Nancy served Michigan’s oldest land conservancy, Legacy Land Conservancy, as artist-in-residence. She is the art director at Camp Alabare, a Catholic Family Camp serving public housing residents from the New York Metropolitan Area. In Spring 2012 she will serve as artist-in-residence at the Grand Canyon National Park, helping visitors experience and express a deeper connection with nature’s wonders through art. Following her Grand Canyon residency, she will bring the canyon home to Michigan through talks, exhibitions and demonstrations in public venues.
Great news!! I'm looking forward to seeing it in the library in the fall! Julie
Wonderful news Nancy! The library is a great location for your work. Also, I didn't know that information about President Ford. It gives me a greater respect for him.
