Connected as Nancy McKay (62 friends)
Nancy McKay earned a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University in textile arts. However, self-guided study, experimentation, and visual immersion in nature have formed the basis of her artistic endeavors. She believes that both art and nature are uplifting, healing, and empowering. During 2011, Nancy served Michigan’s oldest land conservancy, Legacy Land Conservancy, as artist-in-residence. She is the art director at Camp Alabare, a Catholic Family Camp serving public housing residents from the New York Metropolitan Area. In Spring 2012 she will serve as artist-in-residence at the Grand Canyon National Park, helping visitors experience and express a deeper connection with nature’s wonders through art. Following her Grand Canyon residency, she will bring the canyon home to Michigan through talks, exhibitions and demonstrations in public venues.
Nancy is a talented, multi-media artist that is in the enviable position of creating timeless, enduring works of art that will continue to bring pleasure to us and those who come after us -- forever. I'm thrilled to have a small role in seeing to it that she achieves her dream with this project.
