About this project
I self-published a book last August, and in eight months it won ten indie book awards. It's done ten times better than the average self-published book ever does in it's lifespan. I have great faith that this book can continue to succeed (and even be picked up by a real publishing house!), but I have exhausted all of my resources. I've funded this entire project on my own so far, every spare nickel and dime I've had has gone into this book, which is why I think it's been so successful. The money I've made off the book has gone right back into marketing it which has opened a ridiculous amount of doors for me. I can't jump on those opportunities though, unless I have the funds to keep doing so.
For example, bookstores are willing and wanting to carry my book, but because it's a self-published endeavor they'll only take it on consignment. Which means, I need to front those books. I don't have the money to buy boxes of books to send to bookstores - having resources to do that would continue to help me succeed, expand my efforts, and hopefully be recognized
My marketing efforts - such as going on a virtual book tour; purchasing a HARO ad, press releases, marketing materials; entering some final indie contests; and sending copies to reviewers, agents, publishing houses, blogs, book stores, etc. - is completely on hold until I can find the money to back all this.

I've been working on a yearlong 365 Project, where I photograph and blogs daily about my dining habits as a twenty-something vegetarian living in a predominately seafood state (which can be seen on www.SteffDeschenes.com). Steff Deschenes was once told that she looked like she was a Romantic Revolutionary, ready to inspire a new generation of dreamers (the gentleman who told her this had been drinking, so perhaps it doesn't hold that much weight, but she liked the idea behind it anyway).
