Four friends explore what happens when you can't leave your work at the office and your dragon slaying in the game room.
First off, here's our PILOT EPISODE!
Rolling High will be a web series that follows the lives of 4 friends who play a tabletop role-playing game. The adventures the friends embark on in the game run parallel to their experiences in the real world, and each informs the other.
In early September, we will be filming 6 episodes averaging 10 minutes each for Season 1. Our characters will go on an adventure to defeat a malevolent force that has taken residence in their community. There are also problems at the office.
Throughout the series we find our characters in the game room playing their fantasy personas. The scenes are cut with strikingly similar situations at thrilling locales like a cubicle, a coffee shop, and a restaurant.
It’s all about how you choose to see your life. This is one of the main themes in the series. The four main characters are Ali, Wex, Dilber, and Marty. They each choose a heroic character to play. Ali’s heroic character is Twig the Druid, Wex is Kaglor the Barbarian, Dilber is Magnus the Mage, and Marty is the Dungeon Master, or chief storyteller.
Artwork will play a major role in the series. Instead of having our characters dress up as a wizard or barbarian, we suggest the fantasy through artwork stills that mimic frames from shooting.
The funding breaks down to $2500/episode. We will be shooting Season 1 over the course of 2 weeks and making good use of our time to capture footage in locations that overlap episode to episode.
Equipment Rentals: Lenses for Canon DSLR camera, audio equipment (Sennheiser Shotgun mic to capture great production sound!), SteadyCam, Dolly, Lights, and Grip equipment
Compensation: For our crew and actors (approximately 8 crew and 12 actors throughout) who will be taking time off for the shoot, also providing food and travel expenses,
Location: We’ll be securing an office location, an important setting in Season 1, funding will also be allocated to set dressing.
Without your support this would not be possible so thanks for all your help!!
Enjoy, and we hope to see you in Season 1!
