About me... this is the hardest part :) To start from the very beginning, my name is Emilia. I live in New York and I graduated from Parsons a year and a half ago. Since then I have been working in the fashion industry and I had my daughter, Naomi Rose, after whom this collection is named :) This will be my first collection.

I have always been interested in design and after interning and working in the fashion industry I really came to appreciate young, up-and-coming and independent artists and designers. The amount of work and dedication that they put into their craft is astounding. Their originality and creativity challenge our accepted conventions every day and continuously change how we perceive art, fashion, music, movies and creativity in general.

When I came across Raw Artists, I knew that I had to somehow get involved in this amazing platform. I absolutely love that they promote young artists and give people a chance to present their work!

Raw Artists reviewed my work and told me that they are interested in showcasing my designs. How exciting is that?!  

The immediate goal of this project is to participate in this amazing showcase. The bigger purpose is to help me get a start as a designer, as someone who has not only designed a collection, but has made it it and shown it as well. My goal is to create clothes that make a woman feel beautiful, strong and confident. Fit and tailoring are essential, as is making something that the wearer will love and will want to wear for years to come! The collection will be made up of 6 looks. Once the looks are completed they will be presented in a Raw Artists showcase.

Your contribution:

All wonderful and generous contributions will go towards helping me buy fabric, supplies, and hopefully rent an industrial sewing machine, as well as hire models for the show and create some promotional material, like a look book.
