Raising money to duplicate new CD, "Mouthpiece." Album contains 11 tracks of beatbox-based music and compositions.
My new album MOUTHPIECE is a compilation of tracks which feature beatboxing in unusual contexts: a breakbeat theme song, a country western ballad, an amalgamation of Islamic and Jewish themes, an electro-ambient meditation, and a political diatribe layered over a funk groove. Guest artists include The Portland Cello Project and Danny Blume (who also engineered the album).
MOUTHPIECE is already recorded, mixed, and mastered. I’ve launched this Kickstarter campaign to manufacture 1,000 digipack copies and to publicize and promote the album. Timing is crucial: I’ve just been invited to join the incredible Grammy-nominated Carolina Chocolate Drops on tour; we’ll be on the road starting later this month. Having physical copies of the CD will make it easy for me to introduce my solo work to presenters, listeners, and fellow artists along the way.
The MOUTHPIECE digipack will feature original artwork by me and photography by Angela Jimenez and Jim Gavenus. Engine Room Audio will handle the printing; publicist Joey Hood is on deck, ready to alert the media. As soon as the album is pressed and officially released, I’ll also make it available through ITunes and other download sites.
Thank you for your support! And stay tuned for details on the MOUTHPIECE CD release party in downtown New York City later this Spring.
