Providence Juice Co is the brainchild (and registered LLC) of two people; Josie Morway and Jay Nutini.
Jay has a background in mechanical engineering and ten years experience working in the automotive industry, including installation of hybrid battery charging systems. Jay will manage the physical operations of the truck, and the conversion of traditional appliances to receive solar power.
As a vegan and competitive athlete concerned with optimizing health and performance while reducing his impact on the environment, Jay has long been interested in sports nutrition, sustainable diets, and gourmet vegan cooking. Jay is a master of non-traditional juicing, and recently discovered the amazing chemistry between peaches, celery and basil.
Josie has over a decade of experience in graphic design, arts and community organizing, grant writing and public relations, with a focus on non-profits, independent business and community groups. Josie has collaborated with firms like Schwadesign and has run her own design business for seven years, serving clients including the United Way, Providence After School Alliance, RIPTA, Greater Elmwood Neighborhood Services (now CWRI), Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, Rhode Island Quality Institute, and the City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism.
A vegetarian raised in a household of organic gardeners, Josie has a lifelong interest in sustainable agriculture, community gardening, and working to promote the access by all people to healthy, fresh food. Josie also has experience working as a mentor to urban youth, and looks forward to coordinating Providence Juice Company’s outreach efforts. Josie is partial to adding pineapple to her beet juice.
