THE STORY
"SUBJECT 6" is the story of young woman sealed in an isolation room under constant surveillance, known only by her number "6". She believes she is a paid participant in a behavioral study, but she soon discovers she is actually a prisoner in a deadly game of mind control and must find a way to escape.
THE JOURNEY
"Subject 6" was conceived to launch my directing career. Originally intended to be made on a shoestring budget the project took a surprise turn when the script became a quarter-finalist in the Nichol's screenwriting fellowship (the world's premiere screenwriting competition) landing me representation with The Safran Company (joining the ranks of P-diddy and Djimon Honsou) and attracting the producing talents of Vital Pictures (producers of Armored). Sounds great, right?
It is...! And now I've been challenged to shoot a trailer to convince financiers and A-list actors that, despite being a first-time director, I am the best person for the job.
THE SHORT
Our approach, instead of shooting a trailer, is to craft a compelling short story that is a satisfying tale on its own. One that compliments the feature film and expands on the rich world and the many characters who inhabit it.
This short will be submitted to festivals and passed along with the script to top actors and production companies.
THE GAMEPLAN
The intention is to raise as much money as possible, but even with the bare bones amount of $7,200 - thanks to many years in LA and our amazing group of ridiculously talented friends, we'll be able to deliver a strikingly visual film.
The video teaser is a taste of the tone, imagery and music offering a glimpse into the world of "Subject 6".
