Many people have asked about the range of phone sizes that the Mounty can accommodate because you have realized that its flexibility will allow it to work with other smart phones.  This observation is correct, however there are some key factors to remember.

1.  The button layout and headphone jack location for every phone is different and some buttons may not be accessible while in the Mounty.

2. Phones on the larger size of our range may fit the Mounty but like the larger cases it will not slide as easily into place.

3.  Phones with larger screens (Greater than 3.5") will not fit, and likely would not line up well with the opening in the front of the Mounty.

4.  The Mounty was optimized for the Iphone because it is the single best selling phone model.  We love all phones but we wanted to optimize our mount for the largest audience.

Hey there, Mounty backers and fans!

We just wanted to send out a big thank you for your generous support thus far. Y'all have made the start of our Kickstarter campaign successful and fun.

We've had some great questions about the Mounty and it's applications, size, etc...and, we have tried to respond rapidly. Have you thought of any questions or comments?? If so, send them our way...somebody else might be thinking the same thing.

On another note, the Will It Mount Contest has brought out the creative side in quite a few of you. We really appreciate your getting involved and sharing your Mounty ideas. All of the ideas have been super cool and we thought we'd see if the Mounty could actually stand your challenges. We selected a couple different Will It Mount Contest ideas and carried them out in the real world...check out the results below:

1. Jill C. thought the Mounty would be a great addition to a golf cart. Keep track of the score, check the weather, etc.

2. Sharon R. said, "I plan on attaching my Mounty to the towel rail so I can access my phone while getting ready in the morning." Wont' have to worry about your phone getting wet, when it's perched up above...could also set your phone to Clock mode and know when you're just about out of time.

3. Chris O. said, "I'd use The Mounty to mount my phone to the end of a hand-held boom for getting high vantage point, or otherwise impossible, video." Sweet idea! Kevin took Chris' idea to a local skate park and got some awesome video footage of the skaters.

Our success is dependent upon you and your amazingness. We appreciate you spreading the word to friends/family, and dreaming up ways to use your future Mounty.

There was a good question about whether or not the Mounty will work with a case.  We should have addressed this in the original campaign but neither of us have cases on our phones so it was not front and center in our minds. 

The big challenge with designing to accommodate cases is that they come in a wide range of sizes and shapes.  We wanted to have a mount that holds the phone firmly and yet allows it to easily slide out of the mount when not in secured.  As you can imagine these constraints compete if the thickness varies. 

The good news is that the elastic material of the Mounty does stretch and helps accommodate more options.   However the larger the case the more difficult it is to insert into the Mounty.  I attached the Apple Bumper to my phone and put it in the Mounty .  The fit is snug but the functionality is still really nice (see the images).  Please be aware that larger cases may not work.
