Where would we be without our smartphones? They connect us with the world, ensure we don't get lost and keep us organized. But, sometimes they get tossed in a purse or shoved in a pocket as we go about our daily lives. Wouldn't it be great to have smartphone magic more accessible?

The Mounty is a simple, durable and user-friendly smartphone mount. The Mounty requires no tools to install/remove, and will keep your phone (optimized for iPhone 4/4S) secure as you cruise new trails or stroll supermarket aisles.
Uses for The Mounty
The Mounty can be used in a variety of places and in countless ways. We initially designed the Mounty to fit bicycles, but we were excited to find it could also be used on motorcycles, strollers and even shopping carts.
Attach the Mounty to a handlebar, and your smartphone will be ready for:
Cycling: training apps, map feature, recording your ride
Shopping: price checking, grocery lists, calculator
Fitness: music, maps, training apps, phone/text
Transportation: maps, phone, weather

Why do we need your help?
As you have seen in the video and in the photos above, we've made several prototypes of the Mounty. We have refined the design to ensure that it works in a wide range of applications. While the prototype versions of the Mounty work great and look cool, we need to go to production to make more than just a few.
The next step in this process is to take the leap from prototyping to production, and that is where you come in. Your support will help us cover the initial investment in production manufacturing and complete the journey from idea to reality.
Also, just a cool FYI: most of our rewards include a Mounty...some backers will even receive a customized Mounty featuring 3-D text molding or laser etching, like these:

Yes. Although the Mounty is optimized for the iPhone, it will fit other phones of approximately the same dimensions. (check out our 3rd update for details)

The Mounty was originally designed to be used with I-Phones that do not have cases. The reasons for this vary but primarily it is because there are so many different styles of case that it would be not be possible to have it work with everything without sacrificing quality. However, because the case is stretchy it can accommodate some smaller bumpers and cases. See the updates for more info.

With our initial prototypes the holes we cut in the bottom of the case reduced the quality of the fit near the bottom of the case. The production Mounty will be made with a slightly more durable and stiff material than the prototypes so it may perform OK.
If you want the opening I would recommend buying the 2 pack and cutting the hole with an exacto knife. If the performance suffers you will still have a pristine Mounty. We can provide paper template for the opening upon request.

The Mounty is designed to securely grasp your phone and keep it attached to a handlebar. However, the Mounty will not protect your phone from certain situations, such as a bicycle crash or riding in a thunderstorm.

Yes,the Mounty is designed to fit a variety of bicycle, stroller, shopping cart handlebars. As long as the handlebar is between 3/4″-1 1/4″ in diameter, the Mounty will fit.

The Mounty, itselt, is waterproof. However, the Mounty does not provide any waterproofing protection for your phone. If you're worried about rain, it'd be a good idea to throw your phone in a plastic baggie before fitting it into the Mounty.

Yes. The first round of Mounty production will give you the choice of 4 colors: Black, White, Green and Blue.
