Hi Truman, Thanks for your kind words! I'm as excited as you to see everything all finished up!
Regarding your address, the best thing to do is give send me a message either here on Kickstarter or email me at suw dot charman at gmail dot com with your new address and, if you know it, an idea of when you're moving. I'll make sure that your book goes to the right place!
Hey Suw! Since I responded to the survey a while back for the addresses of where to send the finished book, my tables have turned & my whole family & I are moving cross country to Utah! So, what do I need to do to modify my delivery address for the completed book? Thanks for your awesome work! I can't wait to see the product! You are awesome!
Hi Susan! Good idea! I do have a QR code reader on my iPhone, but haven't tested it yet. I will do a bit more research and update everyone with my findings.
Thank you for the update. I am looking forward to the final work! Can you recommend an app for the iPhone 4 that you think works best for the QR code reader you encouraged us to get? Thanks. Susan Walther
Thanks Susan!
finally got my pictures taken (all on a trek for lunch in downtown Washington D.C) and uploaded to your form! hope you can use at least one of them.
Hi Richard! I might well see if I can find some old atlases, yes. There are a couple of second hand book stores near me, so worth a shot! I was trying to find a public domain hi-res image of an old map of England (or Britain), but have so far failed on that account. Seems images of old maps are big bucks, despite the fact something drawn so long ago isn't in copyright anymore! Still, the search will go on. :D
Suw,
I read your idea and love it. I'm glad I can still back you. Have you thought about using old atlas' for maps? I don't know if you have old book sellers in your area. Or color photocopies from an old atlas or two from your library? Just some ideas. I can't wait. Thanks.
Thanks for your comments, J. and Fred, and thanks also for your support!
Fred, I had been thinking about trying to find out-of-date maps to use in binding this story, but I think that might be a project for another time. Gathering enough defunct maps to bind enough books for everyone might be too much of a challenge right now, but if you have any ideas on sourcing such things, let me know. I'd love to 'up-cycle' some unwanted maps, especially unusual or particularly attractive ones.
J., I'm quite new to bookbinding, but I'm finding it a very satisfying and enjoyable thing to do. I can't wait to get my ream cutter though, as that'll make life so much easier!
Suw - I'm a life-long fan of maps (V.P. of the California Map Society) and your project sounds fun. I also have found imaginary places on Google Maps or not found places that should have been identified. 'Looking forward to updates and the booklet! Regards, Fred DeJarlais
Hi Suw. I am a fan of puzzles, book binding (I work at a press and bindery) and, as fate would have it, a fan of Argletonq, too. You have my pledge.
Argh! Just realised that the video sound is out of sync! Will try to fix asap.
Thanks Steph! I've got some photos of the latest notebooks here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1895824384/argleton-a-story-of-maps-maths-and-motorways/posts/15566
My camera's being a bit finicky though, so need to dig out Kevin's old camera and try to get some better photos.
Curious about the bookbinding process? Check out this video http://www.viddler.com/explore/SuwC/videos/45/ (watch until the end, and you'll get a closer look at the really lovely one Suw used in the photograph illustrating this kickstarter project -- can't wait to get mine!)
