Things Left Behind explores a brief, but important incident in the lives of five characters from human prehistory.

Things Left Behind is a short narrative film about five complex human beings who happen to have been born 15,000 years ago.

Two small parties from different tribes meet at a stream in a small canyon. The brief incident changes the course of two lives.

We plan to approach these characters and this era with great care and detail, presenting as thoroughly believable an experience as possible. Even more critically, we believe the film will depict memorable, compelling characters that strike us with their humanity.

Your investment will make this film possible. Some of the expenses necessary to make this film:

* Production and liability insurance.
* Custom-designed and constructed period costumes and props.
* Equipment rental (grip equipment, camera, lenses).
* Craft services and meals.
* Post-production services (transfer to HD tape and other formats for screening).

The director will not take any compensation on the film. We are determined to work as efficiently as possible and make every dollar and every minute on set count.

We plan to shoot the film in November 2012 and have a finished product by the end of the Spring, with a cast/crew/investor premiere in the late Spring/early Summer and festival run beginning in the Fall.

FAQ

  • As best as we can understand it, they were physically and mentally pretty similar to people today. A relatively small number of generations separate us from this period.

    The characters in our film are emotionally and psychologically complex people. If they are “primitive” then you and I are just as primitive.
