Wow, what a great start we're off to! I want to thank everyone who has donated so far SO MUCH. It's really inspiring to see so much interest and support in the project! I would like to give a very special THANK YOU to my amazing mother, Cindy Hamlin, who has been devoting hours to getting the word out about our project. The vast majority of traffic to the site is directly due to her incredible efforts!

Jesper is currently making his way through Connecticut, and as if his world challenge is not enough, he will be making a side trip to compete in a six-day race!

The six-day race

Jesper's six-day race in New York City is coming up in about a week, and I'm getting the preparations to be up there to film it. For those of you wondering what exactly a six-day race is, well, it's exactly what it sounds like! Basically, ultra runners from all over the world meet up at a track, and then they spend six days running around and around and around that track... whoever has run the most distance in that time is the winner. As Jesper says, "You get to know every blade of grass on that track!".

As you might imagine, this type of competition is much more difficult on a mental level than on a physical one. The distance, time, and the fact that you can run faster but not complete the race any sooner are all factors that require a sort of meditation and fortitude of mind. It is this aspect of the race that I hope to capture when I'm there. I imagine that I will meet all sorts of fascinating personalities, as well, as this type of event is prone to draw!

In the meantime, I will be hard at work making preparations and spreading the word about the project. Thanks again to all our supporters!
