Hey everyone! Let us introduce ourselves. We are Caravan! Ahem, that is, Caravan Dance and Music. We’re made up of 9 belly dancers and 5 musicians with a billion years of combined experience. Well, maybe not that much but a lot. Leili and Padra formed this group to bring dance and music together to create a bigger connection between dancers and musicians. We created a group that plays on the collective talents of dance and music in order to present a well rounded, robust performance.

We are putting on our first full length belly dance show on June 22nd. The show includes solos, group choreography, live music and high energy. You may see swords, fans, Isis wings and maybe even a few snakes as dance partners. This show features high quality performances by professional dancers and musicians. If we reach our goal we will be donating 4 free performances around the Twin Cities in 2012 to create more access to the arts. This is Caravan’s first large-scale show and it will not be the last. 

The funds received from this project will go to pay for the theater rental first. Anything raised beyond our goal will help pay for studio rental for rehearsal space, renting theater space in the future for more shows and certain props for the group.
