Corporate Pledges and Reward Levels

We're just over a week into this project and it's going very well. We're nearly 80% funded and we're closing in on the $10K mark. Thank you, backers, for your generous support!

Now that the project has proven itself, I'd like to draw your attention to the multi-user rewards:

  • $100: 3-User Pack (5% off; save $5)
  • $250: 8-User Pack (10% off; save $30)
  • $625: 21-User Pack (15% off; save $110)
  • $1,500: 55-User Pack (22% off; save $425)

These reward levels are designed for managers to purchase for their teams. Most managers have a corporate credit card that they can use for small expenses. In some cases, they may not even need to file an expense report. (Check your own company's policies, of course.) I've reduced the pledge amounts for multi-user packs so you get a nice discount.

Managers are busy, so they'll want to know that these reward options are low maintenance and hassle free. The logins are transferable and based on email address. Each user manages their own account and password; there's no need for you to deal with password resets and the like. You can designate someone specific (such as an office admin) to confirm new users and account transfers, or you can simply allow anybody from your domain to register. This last option is perfect for smaller companies where you trust people to do the right thing.

Managers also want to know that they're using their money wisely. This project is risk free. I've been serving corporate clients large and small as an independent consultant since 2000 and I know the importance of good customer relationships. If this project fails to reach its funding goal, your credit card will not be charged. My Let's Play TDD series shows a consistent track record of delivery, but in the unlikely event that I don't deliver the series as promised (two "Live" and "Caffeinated" videos every week and two "Lessons Learned" videos every month, starting in July), I'll refund your money. And if you're dissatisfied for any reason at all, contact me directly at jshore@jamesshore.com and I'll make it right, up to and including refunding your pledge.

So if you're part of a team or company that's doing a lot of Javascript development, let your manager know about the multi-user packs. And if you're leading such a team yourself, consider getting a pack for your team. They're perfect for watching at home or on the subway, and they make great discussion fodder for brown-bag lunches.

      take the first number, multiply by 2 then add the difference between the number and the previous number. 1, 1*2 + (1-0) = 3, 3*2 + (3-1) = 8, 8*2 + (8-3) = 21, 21*2 + (21-8) = 55
