Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

We know that challenges will arise during these next few months while we prepare for our first Girls Rock Camp Baton Rouge. While we are enthusiastic about Girls Rock Camp and its mission, this is our first year and unfortunately we have a limited budget. We definitely have many things on our wish list, but we will need to start with purchasing only the essentials. Of course, finding volunteers, can always be a challenge, but we plan on using some of the money from this Kickstarter to conduct further advertising. We also need help securing various musical instruments. As you know, they can be quite expensive and it will be impossible for us to purchase all necessary equipment. Due to this, we are currently and will continue to look for instrument donation and/or loans. Another obstacle includes finding a local venue for the showcase (which can be costly as well). We, of course, need something cheap, yet nice, with a sound system, and a venue which will permit an all ages show. We did have one in mind, yet it is already rented that night, so we will continue to search for a potential location. We appreciate the great response we have received thus far from our community and others. Girls Rock Camp Baton Rouge is a work in progress, but we will do everything we can to bring this wonderful organization to Baton Rouge, Louisiana this summer.
