After experiencing debilitating sciatica pain and numbness in my elbow from sitting at a computer all day, I created my own standing desk to try. After a week, my pain was completely gone! I was more focused and productive and even lost weight from burning extra calories by standing up. I was assassinating my deadlines, slicing through my work day, while feeling healthier and nimble as a ninja!
I dreaded the times I had to work sitting down, like when I traveled. I needed a portable standing desk.
The solution hit me like a throwing star: The Ninja Standing Desk!
PROBLEM: Sitting at a desk was killing me! Conventional sitting desks contribute to so many health problems.
SOLUTION: Standing desks encourage healthier work ergonomics and more mental focus.

WHY: Currently standing desks are hundreds to thousands of dollars. My goal was to create a reasonably priced standing desk that was portable! Now I want to expand from making the Ninja Standing Desk one at a time myself, to a larger production run by a manufacturer.

Product information:
The Ninja Standing Desk hangs from a door, wall, or cubicle and is available in 2- and 3-shelf models. It can hold a laptop, monitor, keyboard, and mouse combination as preferred. By adding a third shelf it can also be used as a sitting desk by simply moving the laptop and keyboard down one shelf, and pulling a chair up to the desk.
The desk is adjustable to any height and tilt angle; it folds up into a compact package for easy transport, and is sturdy enough for everyday use!

We have lined up all of the suppliers and manufacturers for a production run made here in the USA, in the San Francisco Bay Area! The money we raise will go directly to purchasing the materials (cloth, strapping, Velcro, metal hardware, military strength T9 aluminum support poles, fiberboard inserts, mounts, case) and manufacturing the desks (cutting and sewing, sheet metal bracket fabrication, assembly, packing, and shipping).
All of the relationships with manufacturers and suppliers have been painstakingly built over the last 8 months one by one. I personally visited the sewing companies to ensure quality and fair working conditions.
While we plan to have this run made right here in the USA, we have also put into place relationships with overseas manufacturing companies in case we need a much larger-scale production of Ninja Standing Desks.

We provide special mounting hardware "Monkey Hooks" that install in seconds with no tools into drywall and only leaves a small pinhole.

Yes, each shelf is rated for 30 lbs. (Although we have tested it to hold over 100lbs without breaking).

You can use a second Ninja Standing Desk and set them up side by side to hold a second monitor, printer, or other computer peripherals.

YES! We have upgraded to T9 military grade aluminum anodized support poles connected by shock cord. This adds the the strength of the desk significantly and lowers the weight.

For cubicles we recommend mounting on the taller walls, as it is hard to get the top shelf high enough on the 3/4 walls unless you are pretty short or use a riser.
To mount the desk, use the included D-ring to hang it off of traditional cubicle hooks supplied by your office or readily available at any office supply store.

To adjust for a shorter or taller person you can either set up another set of mounts and lift the whole desk setup up or down (preferably removing the computer first) or they can re-set up the desk shelves to their preference.

The shelves were made to support even large monitors. You can see in our gallery at www.ninjastandingdesk.com various shots of the 23" monitor being supported without the shelves overly flexing. Each shelf will comfortably hold up to a 27" monitor or iMac.
Each shelf is fabric with hardboard inserts (what they make clipboards from) and T9 military grade aluminum pole supports underneath. We have tested it to hold over a hundred pounds, our 30lb recommendation is merely what the shelf supports with minimal flex.
