We are presenting the remarkable play ENFRASCADA, a Hoodoo Comedy of Jarring Proportions by playwright Tanya Saracho beginning April 5th and WE NEED YOUR HELP to costume these sassy, fabulous Latinas in the fierce clothes they need to bust out this play in STYLE! These ladies hit concerts, clubs and dens of magic and they gotta look GOOD!

"When a terrible split turns Alicia’s world upside down, she turns to Folk Magic to heal her suffering. With the help of her friends and some enchanting magi, Alicia mines the underworlds of Brujeria, Santeria and Hoodoo for magic recipes, age-old traditions and ancient jar spells looking for a cure. Based on real and extended exchanges with practitioners of each craft, Enfrascada explores one of the best-kept secrets in the Latino community."

Kickstarter is simple. If we reach our funding goal, the project is a success and 16th Street Theater gets the funds. If we don't, everyone gets their money back. Why $555? The costume design costs $500 and the $55 covers the fees associated with Kickstarter and Amazon who processes the donations.

Our costume designer Joelle Beranek can stretch a dollar till it screams, but we do need your help to put on the finest production possible of this wonderful new play! 16th Street Theater is devoted to new work and new playwrights and is proud of its long relationship with Ms. Saracho, the author of Kita y Fernanda and Our Lady of the Underpass.
