Synopsis: A newly deceased couple arrives in an afterlife that seems a lot like a vacation home. Just as they're beginning to accept and even enjoy their new surroundings they meet an eccentric couple who are hell bent on sharing the amenities. The story that unfolds is a dark comedy examining the unsavory side of human nature as the two couples become consumed with greed, covetousness and revenge, even when faced with the finality of the great unknown.
The Situation: The film was shot over 2 weekends in January 2012, on location at Still Light Pond in Occidental California. We had an amazing cast and crew and are so excited about our footage! We cant wait to begin phase two. This is where need your support...
The Plan: The funds we raise will go towards editing and color correction, sound mixing and creating an original soundtrack. And of course, submitting the film to festivals!

About Us
We are a collaborative group of multi-disciplinary artists, The Rookie Productions (composed of husband and wife team Meegan Barnes and Raffaele Vesco), and Peter Mann and Marissa Kunz. The story line was conceived a year ago when the four of us were spending the weekend together at Still Light Pond.
Cast + Crew:
• Raffaele Vesco, Director, Cinematographer and Storyline Producer of Across The Pond, is a native Italian who decided to pursue his film making dreams in 2007 after graduating with a law degree from the University of Bologna. He came to San Francisco in 2010 when "Il Vincitore", a film he worked on as Set Designer, was screened at the SF Independent Film Festival (it was also shown at the Mill Valley Film Festival and many more internationally). It was during this trip he met his wife Meegan.

• Meegan Barnes, Actress, Art Director and Contributing Writer of Across The Pond, is a San Francisco born Designer and Illustrator with a new found passion for film making. She'd like to take this opportunity to say a few words to the Oscar Meyer Weiner commercial casting director who cast her aside circa 1979... "eat your heart out wiener man!". www.meeganbarnes.com
• Peter Mann, Actor and Writer of Across The Pond, is a historian, graphic artist and general dabbler in the world of words and images. Originally from Kansas, he is currently finishing his PhD in Modern European History at Stanford.
• Marissa Kunz, Actress and general opinion-giver, is a graphic artist and art teacher in San Francisco. Before earning her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, she grew up in Bangkok, where she gained valuable professional acting experience by pretending to play the keyboard in a Thai music video and touting the virtues of Mirinda orange soda.
• John Lawler, Actor, is a mechanical engineer and a helluva guy. Born in Kansas, schooled at Stanford, he is currently at large in San Francisco.
