He entered into a legally binding contract to either fulfill our rewards or refund them. I'm not sure how to go about getting my money back but he agreed to do one or the other when he started this thing.
Is a creator legally obligated to fulfill the promises of their project?
Yes. Kickstarter's Terms of Use require creators to fulfill all rewards of their project or refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill. We crafted these terms to create a legal requirement for creators to follow through on their projects, and to give backers a recourse if they don't. We hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfill.
Luckily I'm only out 25.00 and while it's not much it's the principle behind it. All I know is that if he doesn't deliver and continues with no contact he will be in violation of that agreement.
Creator Tama Sularko on May 3
100% sure this is a scam now - almost a year without update
Creator Deborah Li on April 25
yaaa. i'm tempted to go to Kickstarter about this. seems like a scam after all.
Creator Manfred on April 25
Any news about the game?
Creator Matt Herson on March 20
I am trying to contact Despain, a pixel artist who allegedly worked on the project. I mean, why not, at this point?
Creator Michael Talbert on February 9
I sent him a PM on Facebook on January 29th about the game's progress, whether or not we (the backers) will receive a refund if he can show nothing by the delivery date, etc. I still have yet to get a response from him. If enough of us ask him, surely he'll have to send out some response, right?
If not, come June, we all contact Kickstarter about the blatant cash grab that apparently still leaves him feeling "frickin' bored".
Creator Nick Bitterling on February 6
How about we start sending him private messages on facebook untill he actually gives us a response or something? :c
Creator John Stringer on February 4
Is there a way we can report this to Kickstarter and go after our funds?
Creator Shazbot on January 31

His last update? "I'm freaking bored". He's turned off comments. If he's so bored, why not finish his game? Where did our money go?
Creator Michael Talbert on January 6
Has anyone been in contact with anyone of the dev team, particularly Kyle? I've basically come to terms that this was a throwaway for free money unless he can prove otherwise.
Creator James Klingler on November 1, 2012
Another month with no update :-(
Creator randalthor on October 14, 2012
I knew I should have listened to my gut and not backed this game. Why is the minimum pledge to get the game $15, when the game is supposed to only cost $5, when it's supposedly released. Or you can supposedly play it for free on some shifty website. My gut told me something felt wrong about that.
But the artwork and music won me over. Oh well, at least I only lost $15. I can't begin to image how angry and hurt the people who pledged higher amounts must feel. I still continue to back other video game projects. I still believe in Kickstarter. But I've been a lot more careful with what I back now.
Creator Hexidemic on October 11, 2012
It's not looking good. Thinking I just got scammed out of some cash :\
Creator Michael Talbert on October 9, 2012
As has been mentioned by a number of people already, it would be great to have some kind of update as to the project's progress. Even if it's just to tell everyone that you've given up and scrapped the project, never to touch it again, any update would be good for the backers. It is going on five months of silence, which is far too long for anyone that has invested in your work.
Creator Davy Bielen on September 25, 2012
This is not looking good at all. I scanned Kyle Pruitt's public facebook for any mentions about this project but couldn't find any. Maybe he posts only for friends but I highly doubt it. In his public info he writes about becoming a sailor and maybe he has different life goals by now. It seems to be an abandoned project. The only person that can shed any light on this is not answering the comments/messages. If this turns out to be a scam, then from now on I will only pledge on projects coming from people with a current respectable track of games/products on their names. Experiences like this ruin it for the first timers with good intentions. Kyle, you still have chances to redeem yourself and provide us with an update, any update will do.
Creator Jared on September 17, 2012
We need an update. Good or bad, we need to be updated on this project's status.
Creator Ryan Mast on September 7, 2012
His last login was August 16th, so he should have at least seen any private messages that got sent. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to contact him via facebook (perhaps through one of his friends if he doesn't allow messages directly); if he's just a huge procrastinator like myself, then getting asked in person by someone he knows would be the fastest way to get a response.
Creator Warboss on September 4, 2012
Shattered Dreams, are they ours being stomped to bits into reality ?
Creator HatMadeOfBacon on August 9, 2012
so... either they are having issues again or we were scammed. I guess we'll see as time pass which one it is.
Creator Matt Herson on August 5, 2012
I sent Kyle a private message about 3 weeks ago asking for ANY kind of update, whether there's good news or bad news...and I haven't received even an acknowledgment of my message, let alone a response. And, of course, the official website hasn't been updated since April.
I'm a little nervous that the project has just dropped off the face of the Earth.
Creator James Klingler on August 2, 2012
Hi Eryrthia Team - can we have an update of the status of the project? It's been quiet for 2 months...
Creator Matt Herson on July 13, 2012
So, uh, it's been about 6 weeks since we've heard anything from the Erythia Team...
Creator Eric Steinbrenner on June 28, 2012
I have to agree with Matt, even just to verify that you've gotten the funds from kick starter and can continue with the progress of the game. An update describing expected timeline would be great.
Creator Matt Herson on June 24, 2012
Hey, how is the game coming along? It's been three weeks since the last comment/update from the Erythia Team, so I'd love to hear what you all have been up to! Did you manage to find an animation studio?
If something has gone wrong, and if that something happens to be related to the music, there is at least one backer who could try to help! :) Regardless of whether things are going well or not, I think we backers would love to hear something - anything at all, really.
I'm really looking forward to the game!
Creator Kyle Pruitt on June 3, 2012
Alright! We've reached the end! In total, we were able to not only reach out set goal of $5,000, but also exceed it by almost $3,000. Talk about exciting! For those curious, the extra funding will be going towards providing assets to the game they we originally did not think we would be able to. Namely, animated cutscenes and extra artwork!
According to Kickstarter, it will be another 14 days before the funding is cleared, but we're already hard at work finding an animation studio that fits Erythia's style. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more updates!

I start considering a cancel of my pledge as well.
Please Dev.-Team. An update would do a great job...
Creator juryman00 on May 15, 2012
I'm cancelling my pledge, no communication for weeks, if this is any indication of how things are run then I do not have high hopes for the game, sorry
Creator Chris on May 14, 2012
So how about a little proof that you guys are alive and our money won't be going to a Nigerian Prince?

Creator Sergio Lopez on May 12, 2012
Do beta testers receive a copy of the final game?
Creator chris dickson on May 9, 2012
Did they fall off of the world? I'm surprised that nothing has been mentioned in terms of new news, updates, or even a congrats on continuing to crush the pledge (currently by 50%) but... nothing??? Quite disappointed on a lack of communication in general, probably due to being very excited... but still!
Creator Tyson Hodges on May 8, 2012
What engine is this game developed in?
Creator Troels on May 6, 2012
If it becomes available on Steam, will we receive a redeem key? Also, how much do new pledgers have to pledge to receive the game itself when it's released?
Looking good guys!
Creator Tyson Hodges on May 4, 2012
Sorry, not to double post! But please try for a Steam release! =D
Creator Tyson Hodges on May 4, 2012
Pledge in for the 25$$ exclusive. I've been wanting more old school RPGs. And Kickstarter keeps answering my prayers. xP
Creator Kari Salminen on April 23, 2012
100% funded!
Creator Dave MacPhail on April 19, 2012
I love the artwork in this game, it reminds me of all of the awesome jrpgs i used to play on the Saturn/PSX back in the day. I thought long and hard about my pledge and decided on the top tier one, this game reminds me of a better time, when we didnt have stupidly high polygon counts or 40 minute cut scenes, back when we had a little bit of fmv here and there, some voice and a lot of character in the sprites. I cant program worth a damn, but ill make sure i can help those that can, good luck guys, cant wait to see the final game ^_^
Creator Kyle Pruitt on April 17, 2012
"Wow guys! We are getting backers at an almost alarming rate. We wanted to
get some new artwork up at the 50% mark, but our supporters are outrunnig
our team. Don't worry though, more is on the way soon. We can only take it
as a good sign that we've gotten this far this fast. Thank you all for the
support!"
@ Hexidemic - Steam is something we had not considered, but it is definitely something we will look into now. We'll definitely keep you updated on this issue.
@Jared - We have a video in the works, and my next update will include information about the already revealed characters and a brief synopsis of Erythia's story.
@all - Thank you all for your support! We never imagined we'd get so many backers so quickly!
Creator Jared on April 16, 2012
I think if you gave some more details about the specifics of the game, you could pull in more backers. I like the concept though, good luck! :)
Creator Hexidemic on April 14, 2012
I'm curious if you're looking into releasing on steam as well. Backed and good luck!
Creator Kyle Pruitt on April 10, 2012
@Nubcakes - the battle system of Erythia is one of our most anticipated aspects of the game. Whenwe began designing it, we wanted to distance ourselves as much as possible from the battle engines of past SNES era RPGs. Every one of us on the design team could recall many games in which we could breeze through battles without much thought.
Our battle system is unique in that it features a lot of aspects you see in modern MMO games, such as taunting, aggro management, positional bonuses, cooldowns, and much more. It really adds a new level of excitement to combat!
Creator Kyle Pruitt on April 10, 2012
Wow, seven new backers in four hours. Thanks for your support, guys! And yes, Flora Li is an amazing artist, and one of the most pleasant persons I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Her talents are a very welcomed addition to the Erythia team! Wait until you see what she has in store!
Creator Nubcakes on April 10, 2012
