Hi Friends,

We are getting there,yahoo! Going in to the studio on January 2 to do vocal overdubs. Then Roland and I will mix and master the songs with a really qualified engineer here in New Orleans.

We finished the photo shoot for the cover last week. Kristin Fouquet did a beautiful job.

Its ironic that this album was written postmortem as a tribute for my dad in a way and now as I detail it I find my self doing so after the passing of my brother two weeks ago.
As sad as it has been, this journey of understanding what we are doing here to actually doing it has kicked in and I feel a stronger sense of purpose to do better.

So I am excited to share this project with you shortly, and sure appreciate your patience. I realized from start to almost finish a lot has happened. Isaac and its delay seems like a long time ago. Since then, we have had some really good shows at Voodoo Fest with my new creation www.neworleansnightingales.com, had some great shows at Preservation Hall, and with Kermit Ruffins at Tipitinas and was the feature story and cover for the November issue of www.offbeat.com.

So "It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it and that's what gets results"......that's what we intend to do.

Here is the latest update:

We are going in to do vocal overdubs end of this month.

Then onto mixing and mastering and artwork.

I apologize if this project is taking a little longer than planned.There are a few variables at play: Roland Guerin is my producer, and as a super talent I have been very lucky to have him on board and as a super talent his schedule is tight as he travels the world playing music with Allen Toussaint. He is in India right now lucky man.

As well, having the all star super line-up I have been so unbelievably lucky to get at a great rate, the budget still went out the window quite fast. No worries, I will be supplementing with additional funds from elsewhere tres shortly. I always used to read about these over budget productions and never understood it until I came to realize, in order to get exactly what you want, sometimes that what it takes. Well, Fellini and Demille, hopefully this one will come close to your greatness!

Finally, with the Isaac having hit, it actually took over a month to get back on track with everything including the studio which got flooded from the rain. As well, our house, but most importantly, all people on the project had to scramble to survive as their gigs and jobs were cancelled. That is the life of the artist and so we are all pushed back a bit. Being the most impatient person that I am, nobody wants this done more than I do. So thank you for your patience and investment into this project. I am and remain extremely excited to present this to you shortly!

Hi Friends,

We are getting there.

Looking to have project completed by next month.

We are going into studio to do final vocal overdubs and a few detailed touches added in.Then onto Mixing mastering and Graphics. Cover is done. Rest on its way. Roland Guerin has taken this recording under his wing and is overseeing every detail to make sure it is done properly. I am learning a lot!

In the mean time, the ball is rolling and good thing are happening. We are booked to pay Voodoo Fest with our New Orleans Female Singer Revue"The Nola Nightingales" Featuring the amazing IrmaThomas on October 27th Preservation Hall Stage.

I am going to be the cover girl for the November issue of Offbeat, very excited! We are starting our residency at Preservation Hall on October 6th and opening for Kermit Ruffins at Tipitinas in November!

I just signed with Kermit Ruffins manager and we are working hard to expand and explore the unknown!
